It's astonishing that even a large number of 25's don't seem to know what you need to do to turn events heroic.
For example you are about to place the 6th arc charge and some bozo goes and finishes off the first walker before the event turns heroic.
Or in glimmer drilling you are about to destroy the third drill and someone goes and kills 4 of 4.
Surely everyone knows what's required to make them go heroic?
Or is there some reason why some folks aren't fussed about making them heroic?
EDIT: so just to update the consensus seems to be that apart from deliberate trolls it's basically because most think rewards are no better for Normal or Heroic. I have to say that's not my experience. I know it's usually the standard two tokens and a blue but I've had legendaries and just 2 or 3 times, an exotic and I'm pretty sure those better rewards were always from Heroic.
Another point made by a lot of people below is that it's not just about the chest. It's also the XP. Now maybe Eververse bright engrams aren't THE most important thing in the world but from time to time I've got a helpful ghost that way. It's perhaps more important for the clan XP after the Tuesday reset when you are just grinding to get Hawthorne's reward.
Oh and for the replies that describe me as "kid" - thanks, I am 55 but it helps to recapture my youth!

Just think what an awesome, first-world life you’ve got if that even registers on your frustration meter.

9 RepliesAt the moment it's hardly worth making an event heroic, the struggle of shooting every vent; and surviving the fire dome when there's hardly any guardians with you all for one token is 💩, Bungie really need to sort that crap out.

1 ReplyEdited by Quaddity: 2/8/2018 2:48:25 PMMercury is the most annoying... wait for 30 mins for the PE and the other players rarely have an interest in making it heroic. I want the 2x clan XP from heroic I don't care about the rewards at the end.
-
I don't care anymore, I just wander off from the event. Logged on last night, first time all weekend, did solo heroic (completely on my own!) received one region token...went to my menu and played around with shaders for a while, logged off, watched Star-Trek.
-
4 RepliesThats because all the milestones in this game are a chore and not something fun and rewarding. People want their powerfull engram, not the two tokens and a blue that you will get from a heroic event. Thus just finishing them the fastest they could since the milestone says - do public events, not do heroic events.
-
To be honest with you i had to watch a youtube video to find out how to turn most of the events to Heroic. How else is anyone meant to know how to do it, trial and error?? Andother massive time sink..? I dont know how the youtube caster figured them out. Was it written somewhere by bungie how to actually make them heroic? if i didnt watch that video i still would have no idea..

1 ReplyWhen this happens to me I tell the blueberries how I’m feeling in no uncertain terms with a dance I’ll show them.
-
I think for a lot of people they just don't care about doing it or just like to harass the people trying to do it.
-
rewards are defenitly better... and a lot of people just do not know.... a lot of casuals play the game.

Edited by Trollefix: 2/7/2018 10:05:56 AMI keep seeing these posts around every reset. First off Im pretty sure most people know how to by now but some (if you already hit max power and got all the exotics) probably just want to finish the weekly milestone quick and get the hell outta there and can’t be botherd to activate heroic just to get an extra engram or whatever.
-
1 ReplyAll the people who know how to make them heroic are in here yelling about how bad things are while people who just wanna play the game and don’t give a crap about anything and would never read this banter honestly are playing and having fun heroic or not.
-
I'll help to activate the Heroic event if I can but sometimes the planets seem devoid of other guardians. Usually I can trigger the Heroic versions; but often when I'm alone I get destroyed or can't get that last sliver of the bosses xp down in time. So if you see me in the wild in a regular event, it's because I lost hope in seeing backup arrive in time to help with the servitor in the EDZ or the injection rig.

21 RepliesEdited by TeddyBundy: 2/5/2018 9:45:07 AMWhat do you expect from D2 players? The game is made for braindead scrublords.
-
Why don't they just skip the whole public event and throw the reward at you to make you happy for doing absolutely nothing
-
2 RepliesWhat’s the difference? You still get the same reward!
Two tokens and a blue.
-
The only ones I ever see having issues is those stupid blights. It seems like all the others everyone is willing to work with.
-
7 RepliesHonestly it’s only the taken blight one that’s hard to make heroic. It just takes so much damage to destroy the Blight and it’s easy to rip through the adds so Ill literally spend the whole time trying to make it heroic and then some dude will show up and wipe the adds in a few seconds. So I end up wasting my heavy super and grenades for nothing because they kill all the adds before the blight pops. Almost every time damn it.

Edited by Capcom__Warrior: 2/6/2018 4:49:36 AMNot everyone that is a 25 has been playing since launch. It takes more time for some people. Both of my boys don’t know how to do all of the Heroic Public Events. They’re 7 and 11. I think it would be great if there was some kind of voice proximity during patrols. Kinda like it used to be in Halo 2 PvP. That would be so amazing. Then you could teach random people you meet in the wild.
-
I think most people are just in it to get them done as fast as possible, since taking them to heroic doesn't really net you anything substantial. I try to get them to heroic, but I have noticed a lot of 25s just ignoring what it takes to get the events to heroic lately.
-
1 ReplyMeh you can do most solo even with scrubs not helping. I’ve done >1000 heroics. FML.
-
Public events are so 2017 bro.
-
Heroic doubles your clan xp to 500. If you're not getting them to go heroic, you might as well do a patrol.
-
If it goes heroic great, if not whatever
-
I have saved clips of people shooting the vents that are already destroyed. It's like wtf are you doing? People also like to save their super and jump inside the blights to kill everything. Lately I've noticed that no one shoots the ship as it's descending and we sometimes have to wait for the second time it drops, or I waste a super on it. Maybe they don't care but when I'm grinding for xp I like to do the heroics.
-
I get better stuff from heroic too. I find most random I play with know what to do. They shred. 😂
-
It a not that people don't know, it's just people don't give a -blam!-. They play the game for them not you.
