I will be following is Skillup's footsteps. This game has been the biggest disappointment I've experienced in a long time.
My biggest regret isn't that I purchased this game, it is that I served as an advocate for this game prior to its release. I encouraged all of my coworkers and friends to buy it, and they did. I even encouraged them to stick around for the DLC to come for it would improve on the game drastically, but that is clearly not the case.
I had to personally apologize to all of my friends and coworkers for the disappointment that is Destiny 2.
I've officially retired from Destiny 2. I will never purchase another product from Bungie nor will I be playing the next DLC (even though I've already purchased it). Bungie is clearly no longer the company they used to be and in my eyes, Activision Bungie is the same as EA Dice.

9 RepliesEdited by JayP: 12/12/2017 12:14:25 PMThis thread is a great example of fans coming to terms with their unfaithful partner; Bungie. Good work by Skillup. Quality video game personalities create good discourse. Players feel something is just amiss about their destiny 2 experience. “Am I the only one noticing this? Surely it’s not just me; these guys created HALO!” We are driven to seek out journalistic material. There are 10 other regarded journalists like Skillup to choose from. It’s not about creating controversy. It’s about a movement by upstanding gamers against the parasitical revenue models sucking the life from our favourite franchises. StarWars and Destiny are in the spotlight now, but did you know that as you browse this forum, Anthem’s developers frantically work to retool their micro transaction model in light of the EA StarWars blowout? Back to destiny The consensus is well and truly out. The halo players and the d1 & d2 loyalists; the believers of bungie as a studio; have had their trust shattered and I would go as far to say their hearts broken repeatedly. Bungie changed for the worst. We have been neglected. The micro transaction (gambling) business model is too effective to return eververse loot back into the game where it belongs; as rewards for great in-game achievements and feats. Our wallets have been targeted to the demise of our experience with Bungie’s product. Moreover, content we paid for has been literally removed and locked behind a dlc pay wall. Trials is a base game feature. What if we don’t buy the DLC? When a CoO map hits trials of the nine rotation one weekend we are locked out of this core PvP activity. Players seeking the ultimate rpg/shooter experience should be immersing themselves in an organic and intrinsically sustainable ecosystem; one where if we work hard and work smart we reap fulfilling rewards. But the rewards are within the eververse slot machine and this system is objectively empty for players; void of triumph and accomplishment. Youtubers and twitch streamers will find greener pastures. This game is not the make or break of their content creation careers. Every day more and more people observe the betrayal genuinely felt by us the bungie & destiny fans. Edit I’m encouraged to see others supporting this opinion. Bungie has released a statement defending the reasoning behind their DLC content confiscation practice, saying “With Curse of Osiris now live, it’s clear that we’ve made some mistakes with how we have handled content access. We would like to talk through the reasoning behind our decisions so far...” The players have spoken and Bungie now alleviates the immoral content lock-outs. Triple A studios must reconsider whether infecting their game with loot-boxes and micro transactions is actually worth the public backlash. Bungie is in the middle of this sh*t-storm, having scarcely pacified us with an extravagant explanation for the bright engram / XP throttling. In several countries authorities take legal action against the implementation of video-game gambling targeted at impulsive spenders and most predatory of all; targeted at minors. Most unsettling about the classic developer PR responses I continue to read, is the covering-up of unethical practice; to justify the design process behind RNG loot-box microtranactions and content lock-outs. 1 ReplyHaven’t touched the game in two months.

1 ReplyI've played D1 since day one of vanilla and i stoped playing and caring about D1 like 2 weeks into Rise of Iron. I came back for AoT for one week before leaving D1 for good because the game got repetitive and boring. Those reminicisng on D1 are a joke are probably year 3 players. I have no idea why so much hate for D2 when its a far superior game to D1.

"Ok, how can we better lie to you, to maximize profits, with minimum efforts, while making you feel, you are not being suckered at our every corner turned?" #Cancervision.

6 RepliesI myself defend the youtubers who have come out and said that they don’t enjoy D2 as much as D1 skill up is one of them. These youtubers are the reason D1 survived the fact they have to keep making videos over and over just to at least get bungie to see what needs improvement is sad. Youtubers shouldn’t have to dedicate so many videos to tell bungie to stop screwing around they aren’t the game devs but they actively played the game enough to find issues that need to change so on so fourth. Anyone who thinks D2 Is perfect is lying to themselves.

Edited by WiggletonBandit: 12/11/2017 6:15:05 PMI was so close to cancelling my preorder after playing the beta. Hindsight being 20/20 I wish I had at least downgraded from the Deluxe to Base game, but having been such a fan of D1 even with its flaws I know I wouldn't have believed how bad it was unless I experienced it for myself. I've said since the issues became clear a couple weeks in, that I don't expect any big sweeping changes until Y2 since overhauling complete game systems (which is what's needed) takes a lot of time. However, as the Skill-Up CoO review states I'm completely aghast that Bungie continues to double down on their mistakes and in light of community feedback didn't take drastic steps to either postpone the first DLC or make it free to play so that certain content didn't end up locked behind paywalls. Having worked in Sr. management for large corporations for many years I totally understand the push and pull of having to make financial decisions due to the company's obligations to its board and shareholders. However, I've also seen the toll short term financial decision making can take on long term customer loyalty and retention and I'm afraid that in this case Activision may be holding Bungie to short term financial goals that will come at the detriment of the Destiny franchise, or ultimately irreparably harm the Bungie brand. It's a shame to see people abandoning a game and studio they once held in such high regard, and feel powerless to do anything about it.

2 Replies-random weapon rolls (biggest issue for me) - actually good raid gear for prestige and normal -better endgame -removal of tokens -d1 vendor system -removal of non faction gear from faction -factions active ALL TIME -faster ttk for pvp -6v6 - gamemode selection in pvp -custom skill trees( you can mix both) - back to int,dis and str -better exotics these are just few things that came in to my mind

And I pre ordered the most expensive digital version. Haven't played coo neither. And honestly I don't really care. I was a huge bungie fan since halo ce and have been on bungie.net for 7 years. Done completely w this company. Rip the old bungie.

5 RepliesWow! When I read all those comments, I suddenly why Bungie removed the chat in an online game. This community is so toxic. So many Destiny lovers, who just cant accept any critique over their beloved franchise. To be clear here: you can love the Destiny universe/franchise as much as you like! There is a difference between the Universe or Franchise and the politics the publisher is doing. Do you all really say that it is ok what Bungie is doing? It is the best way and they should continue to do exactly that? Little content, just "more health" monsters and the rest behind a gambling paywall for a dlc is one thing, but taking away content if you dont give them anymore money? What happens with the second dlc? If I dont buy those two but still want to simply log in and shoot some things for half I hour, I might not be able to? So I can't play the base game anymore I bought for 60€? Seriously this can't be right! It's called DLC = downloadABLE content. You are able to download extra content, not forced to. You have no Idea how deeply I want to try Star Wars Battlefront 2, but I will never buy it, no matter how much I love star wars and how good it looks and sounds. Some times you just have to stand your ground, otherwise these companies, who have lost their way completely, will just drain your purse until there is nothing left. Just remember that there allready was a complete shutdown on the video game industry in the 80s (just google: video game crash if you dont believe me) and companies like EA and now also Bungie might cause the next one. By selling AAA games at 60€ and up but hiding preogress behind paywalls. People love games and entertaining, but if publishers keep beeing that greedy without actually giving some content back, people WILL turn their backs on them, and it is on us to tell them that it is not ok and that we wont buy their product until we back on a fair amount of content-cost balance. I also hope that more countries will declare this lootbox plague gambling and set high taxes on it.

As long as you learn something from the experience, it is not a lost endeavor. Lesson learned? NEVER PREORDER ANY GAME! Make companies work for your money. It gives them the initiative to do great. Otherwise, they get lazy.

21 RepliesEdited by BIGMAC103: 12/12/2017 1:38:53 AMWell folks, after Star Wars battlefront 2 and destiny 2, I think there’s something that we learned during 2017... Never buy another game associated with the 3 listed... 1. Bungie 2. Activision 3. EA And if any of your friends are considering buying a game by the following 3, save them before it’s too late. It’s a trap. Because your friends may want you to buy the game too so you can play with them, so they will try to pressure YOU to buy it too. Honestly, what a shit year for gaming.

12 RepliesI watched this video the other day. While I can agree with many of his points some of them are dramatically over exaggerated in order to make an overly negative video with the obvious intent to get views, likes and shares from people like the OP of this topic. This community is so salty right now that in order for Destiny youtubers to get views and to stay relative they have make these negative videos. I honestly have to admit that while I agree with many of his statement others I found to be over hyped BS and because of this he lost me as a subscriber.
