I may be alone in this subject but nightfall use to fun. You could take your time and progress with a group of friends talking and having a good time. Now it feels more like a job and a rush job with some modifiers. I hope bungie can add in the next few patches to remove the time limit or at least make it where it is not a rush job. If bungie wants us to stay around, they need to make things like nightfall more enjoyable.
Edit: Thank you guardian's for all your input. It is great to see so many new ideas to make the NF more fun. It is also nice to see many of you being polite about it and not so negative on a post.

1 ReplyIt's poor game design to take a game the rewards planning, moving, and precision shooting, and then slap a timer on it. The timer does nothing for the game that feels rewarding or increases player engagement. It just adds a distracting mechanic on top of an already difficult scenario. It needs to be relegated to some kind of bonus. STOP forcing game over for not beating an arbitrary timer.

1 ReplyThe timer is utter garbage, I just feel like I have to burn through it now. Was better when you could just chill take your time with some buddies

Nightfalls D1: Bungie: "The players are rushing through the nightfall, do something to slow them down!" Nightfalls D2: Bungie: "Add a timer so they have to rush through the nightfalls" Why... fuçking WHY?!?

I haven't started a NF in about 2 months. No need. I don't care for speed running all of the time. Occasionally, perhaps. I don't like how Bungie is making me. It's artificial and cheap. People discuss how amazing the artwork is... Hard to tell when I'm on my sparrow whenever my ghost is able to pull one out.

1 ReplyTime limits on nightfall suck and all exploration insensitives have been eliminated resulting in no little hidden extras and rushed Nightfalls. "Why bother"

I have completed a few, even prestige ones. But still just not feeling it worth a damn.

With the time limts I will not do those events
-
1 ReplyI hate it. It’s a fun sucking artificial difficulty setting. Like others, I wish they would bring back the boot to orbit or at least let folks play how they want to. If you want to be slow and take your time, awesome. If you want to speed run cause you only have 10min to play, cool.
-
Dont like it. Not saying it isnt doable. Ive completed many NFs and prestige NFs. I just dont like it.

3 RepliesWhy attack the enemies when you can just run right past them straight to the boss. If you really want a challenge, kill yourself next to the strong enemies and see how good your team is bringing you back. And no self res.
-
It’s ok, just not EVERY time. I wouldn’t mind it if it was a modifier which happened sometimes. One week there’s no time limit but all the enemies are harder. Other weeks there’s a super short time limit but easy enemies. Another week a medium time limit but they have endless grenades. The only thing that bugs me is that the timer is for every single run.
-
Time limits are LAME. Without a REASON, why is there a time limit? This ain't Mario, bro, this is DESTINY. Or, WAS. I could see a TL if there was someone dying at the end past the boss, or TL before a bomb goes off or an evac exfils, but this? COME ON MAN!
-
7 RepliesFor all these people complaining how they feel pressured and its too difficult to beat it, my answer will be go to YouTube there is a guy that every week posts Solo regular and prestige nightfall videos on different characters. I guess he probably finds this game too easy.

1 ReplyI’m going to lmao when Heroic strikes get a timer!

1 ReplyEdited by Cpt_BluntMan: 12/2/2017 8:53:55 PMThe timer is not a big deal. And the different ways to get time back being the Vex rings, the Anomalies, and killing enemies stay the exact same. Same placement for the Rings and Anomalies, every time.

I loved to solo D1 nightfalls, taking my pace and developing my own strategies here and there. The day I heard that D2 Nightfalls would be a race against the clock I immediately knew I wasn't going to play them. Just tried a single time to see how it was trying to solo but lost interest in fighting the timer.

Edited by That-Nuka: 12/2/2017 6:39:37 PMIt doesn’t bother me the least. The only problem is playing with ppl that don’t know what they are doing. But if I had a choice, I would get rid of the timer.
-
They give us too much time. They should really give us less time and subtract time everytime some one dies.
-
Eh its not really bad or good. its a change that you need to adapt to is all. And on a side note its a far better solution to difficulty than giving enemies more health and damage, they already have plenty of that.
-
Eh it’s fine adds more challenge
-
3 RepliesTime limits are fine, time trials aren't. Nothings really an issue here

4 Repliespretty much everyone

Yeah it's seems they really wanted players to blow through this content....no they want you to literally run through half the enemies only to jump through hoops and tackle a bullet sponge.... it's terrible, not hard , just terrible...
-
Yeah, I hate rushing through them frantically. It's your main MO now as a player with nightfalls, and it blows... D1 nightfalls were nice...*sigh*
-
I don’t like the timer. It turns the nightfall’s I loved in D1 into a pathetic jump‘n run - if I want to play Mario Bros I just do, no need to turn Destiny into this. There is no tactical play needed, simply because you don’t have time. And don’t get me started on limited revives... A Nightfall and even a Strike should be difficult and one should wipe a few times - but because your enemies kick your butt and not because of some phony difficulty added in a complete artificial way.
