The worst Iron banner there has ever been.
Nothing like playing 20+ matches and getting multiple hand cannons, sidearms and grenade launchers. Good times. Very rewarding.
Edit: plenty of upvotes let's keep er going hopefully bungie sees this and does something. If they want us to grind at least give us a few more tokens win or lose.

Honestly I would have loved for the packages to be weapons, the matches to drop armor and the challenges to drop shaders or emblems. The milestones are kind of silly considering it does the same exact thing as the game mode. Thankful for a single game mode tho. Idk if I would be still willing to play if it rotated match by match.

I need that Hunter helmet, I've played so much IB that I could of maxed out to rank 5 on the old system. I've grinded over 100 tokens today and I've gotten shit. Why are there even non IB gear in the mix? I'd rather turn in 50 tokens for a specific piece of gear then getting a random piece of gear that may or may not even be from the IB loot set.

1 ReplyIve picked up 6 packs. 2 marks, 2 fusions, 1 helmet and 1 smg. So much for "smart loot system" seems things dont change from D1 They couldve at least put the IB stuff as post game drops too even id it was rare. Or let us by things. Hell Id pay 75 legendary shards for a weapon or armor peice.

Plus the lag back then was a joke. Do I even need to mention when it was RIft? Are people really that forgetful or do we just love exaggerating and being negative now?

Not the rng im pissed about its all the reskins each activity and each location should have unique looking weapons plus the rolls for IB are shit besides the scout and hand cannon which both have insane range

11 RepliesEdited by WhiteSun: 10/12/2017 11:52:29 PMThere's a very simple reason why iron banner in destiny 1 was perfect in all iterations , from the first one with just 5 bounties and getting gear from lord Saladin , to the last one where you had 5 bounties that gave armor or weapons and loot that dropped like candy from the sky, IRON BANNER LOOT DROPPED, there was an incentive to keep playing each match , there was an incentive to reach rank 5 , whether it was to get that god roll Finnila's peril or T-12 armor or get that clever dragon with the god roll , or get the infamous efrideet's spear With the old system , you could play 20-30 matches and gear would drop , you only would need to play between 3-4 matches to complete your bounties and level your second character to level 5 in one day at the end of the week if you so desire , there was an incentive to keep going. With this new system , you need between 4-10 matches that last 10 minutes each to get one piece of loot , so that's 40 to 100 minutes to get ONE .... ONE !!! MEASLY PIECE OF IRON BANNER ARMOR OR WEAPON, ( Which by the way .. aren't even all that good and or mediocre at best and are mostly re skinned weapons from other activities) And to get the emblem which requires 10 packages , that's 400-1000 minutes , or in better terms 6.6 hours at the earliest , or 16.6 hours at the latest ... and for what ? A re skinned emblem from the first game ? GIVE ME A ******* BREAK !!

Are you seriously telling "hurr durr ib is shit because bad rng hnggg bungie do something" after the game has problems with grind and time taking activities? Yes Iraon Banner is very bad and there are a few resons for that but not getting the loot fast enough definitelly isn't one of them.

Personally I think iron banner should have been a different game mode, Saladin is always preaching about “survival of the strongest “ or whatever so why not have a competitive game mode for a competitive end game activity? It just feels like quickplay with an edgy announcer, and the amount of duplicates you get is tremendous!
