Good post. Don't care if it "should" be off topic. Praying, and hoping, and thinking for people in danger. And supporting them with financial/material gifts. You know, because praying/thinking and doing something else are not mutually exclusive ideas. And just because OP did not include a list of every way to support those in need, doesn't mean he/she doesn't want people to use those other means/methods. Thanks, and be safe everyone

1 ReplyThanks for the thought. And to all of you naysayers out there, at least try to be kind. Prayer is focused meditation. You are not praying to something, but for something. Those thoughts are the beginning of action (kudos to the folk in thread who are clear-minded enough to call for that action). The rest of the prayer / mediation exercise should be to calm you sh*t down, which some children find impossible. Think good thoughts. They are (or should be) the foundation of co-op.

It is funny. I am actually playing Destiny 2 while the storm rages outside my window. Some good down pour is happening here. Gladly, I am more inland, but my area is under tornado watch. But, eh, stocked up on water and snacks with mini meals. I just hope power remains. My internet isn't suffering, so, yay. :D But, that can change within the next 12hrs at my area, anyway. But, my concern is for those that live in the coastal areas.

Take American Red Cross for example they've recently came under fire for lying about what they do with the money. If you people honestly want to donate don't donate to big organizations such as the one I used above your money is only making their pockets bigger

6 RepliesThe sentiment is a nice one but what's more needed is action, not just helping those in the way of this beast but trying to stop these monster storms happening in the first place. Almost everyone who created this game and play it are tech heads to some degree, yet I hear no one talking about the science of hurricanes such as this. Just praying, donating and helping. Where are the people who will stand up for science and the solutions it has for us? That is what this is really, a science problem, that turned into a greed problem, that turned into a weather problem, which turns into a financial one again. The cost of repairing what this storm does, it's going to be a lot more than if we brought science to bare on this problem 20 years ago. We need to fix the thing, before it fixes us.

I'd rather just send positive thoughts than pray but I guess it amounts to the exact same thing in the end. I'm almost in the same situation, have a friend from Australia over so I can't really play either...
