Hi, I'm facing a problem currently. I started the PS4 but one of my cats yanked out the cable whilst it was starting. It kind of messed up the software and keeps saying "there was a critical error in the software, please restart your PS4". I've done that around 5 times but it's only in safe mode and I've tried updating the system and stuff but nothing works.
I haven't reinitialised the system yet. I wanted to ask whether my data would be lost. I have a save file from the cloud but that was from over a year ago. Is there anyway to recover my PS4 that doesn't involve reinitialising since I'm not particularly keen on losing all my save files and whatnot.
I do realise this may be the wrong place to post it but any help would be appreciated.
Edit: Started the PS4 again with Default Settings so it reset everything. Luckily my files were on the cloud thanks to PS+ so just have to redownload everything. Unfortunately my brother didn't have PS+ so all his stuff is gone (F for respects). Let's just say he's not too happy with the cat.
