I mean, it's ok that they made a Survival Mode for Crucible, but I don't think that is what people meant when they said a long time ago that they wanted a Survival Mode.
The closest we ever had to one was Prison of Elders. While it is good, it's more of an arena or a coliseum type of game mode.
What some players would like is a true PvE Survival Mode. One where we are put into an open, but also tight fitting, area where we need to fight off as much of the enemy as possible. The longer you stay, the stronger the enemy becomes and the greater the reward. Let us fight with our friends and compete with each other as we fight hoards of Fallen, Hive, Vex, Cabal, Taken, and Splicers in the new worlds of Destiny 2.
The goals are simple:
Get someone from Bungie to see this and hopefully take this into consideration.
Get, at least, 1,000 votes with the majority voting for yes.
I thank you for your time.
For the fellow lazy readers:
TL;DR
Vote for either PvE Survival or no PvE Survival
Update: I'm gratefully for all of the feedback. I can't believe that this post has gotten so much attention over night! Let's all hope that this is going to get noticed by Bungie eventually.
Also, I've noticed some confusion. A lot of comparisons are being made with the "The enemy is moving against each other" public event. Yes, the event does have a lot of enemies, but it's isn't survival. A Survival Mode in most games means that you keep fighting against never ending waves of enemies until you either all die or, in some cases, have a moment of extraction that you take up.
Update 2: Amazing! I never expected this post to get so much support! I can't believe that we already have over 1000 posts in under a day!
Thank you guys so much! I'm glad to see others feel the same.
Update 3: It's been a little over a day and this post is still getting support. Thank you everyone. I even noticed a mentor, so hopefully that means Cosmodrome or Deej will hopefully see this as well and it won't be ignored.
Also, I wish to ask that we make our comments tame and not so hateful. I respect everyone's opinion on this matter, but let's not harass others or be trolls.

3 RepliesNo, just no. We had it in Skolas. Same thing. STFU Dont give Bungie cancerous ideas, they have plenty of their own.
-
Are we talking like a hardcore mode, like in Diablo games where if you die you lose everything and have to start from scratch again?
-
Please, never ending waves. Weekly leaderboard and id hope they would make quick map patches for when someone finds a way to cheat. Unless it is in a completely blank room, I'm sure someone will eventually find a sweet spot to hide and pick off mobs.

Bungie: The people want a survival mode! PERFECT IDEA! LET'S NERF LINEAR FUSION RIFLES!!!

Edited by Mar: 7/31/2017 9:32:13 PMI always though something like firefight from halo reach in destiny would be fun. Could just have it be a defense game mode where you are sent to a area (could be a crucible map or maps made for the mode) and the objective is to just hold a specific location from enemies, and the waves get harder and harder as you go along. Could have it basically be playing king of the hill against enemy AI, where if they cap the point you loose and the more waves you survive the more rewards (or better chances at rarer gear) you get. For example: if you make it ___ minutes you get reward A, ____ more minutes you get reward B, ____ more minutes you get C, and every ___ minutes after that it gives you a increasing % bonus chance for exotics / rare guns / armor / ships / shaders or w /e. Hope they do add it to the game at some point, even if it is just something like SRL where its a extra mode they throw in every blue moon. Just want to see some more differing PvE modes made. PoE was a good start, but its just the one PvE arena style gameplay, there are still other routes they could go that would be fun.

Survival like Prison of Elders yesssss (variks voice) but not like call of duty at all.
-
Imagine gorod krovi but the zombies have guns lol
-
1 ReplyIt would be fun for destiny 2 to have some sort of COD zombies thing, but with taken?
-
I always wanted a survival in Destiny but i thought i was the only one. It would be really nice had they added it to Destiny, instead i had to go into Crota's end and try to survive in the first part with weight of darkness times 10.

1 ReplyI got super excited when I saw the IGN First: watched 2 minutes of the video... Turned it off disappointed. Stupid PvP...

1 ReplyIs this like zombies in call of duty?

Like what HoW should've been about?
-
Bump Great idea!
-
1 ReplyBungie sucks.
-
3 RepliesI've always wanted 3-6 survival pve on crucible maps likes the mission for gjallerhorn on bannerfall
-
2 RepliesReach firefight, that's all I want again.
-
That's what Poe is or was. They'll bring something similar back. Something that makes sense with lore...
-
I have been desperate for this since day one, like a map the side of Bastion or something with endless enemies would be excellent
-
1 ReplyMaybe a hidden patrol objective using the "survival mode" attributes
-
3 RepliesNot sure if there is any value in the poll, tbh. Asking whether someone wants additional content, who would say no regardless of whether they would play it?
-
6 RepliesEdited by ThyGreatestFlame: 7/31/2017 7:04:33 PMI have been asking for this for so long. Thank you for the post, this is great. It seems like the community really wants this too. However, I think we are missing another important point. PvP has their casual modes and their hardcore modes. And this can cater to all types of PvP players (ignoring the obvious SBMM issues and and player skill issues that can arise). I would argue that the main reason that PvP players don't venture into PvE too much is because, once you've done it all, you've done it all. And there is nothing else. PvP is an ongoing challenge and regularly satisfies them. In PvE, the activities can be split into casual and hardcore also. But the casual option is too easy, and the hardcore option has too many prerequisites. There is no middle ground. This is why we need a survival/horde mode, so that it can provide challenging PvE content that you can play casually.

Edited by dnrobs: 7/31/2017 4:54:57 PMOr the other survival,25 men spawn in edz, last man standing wins. Basically I want battle royale.

1 ReplyBUNGIE!!! You guys did this almost perfectly with Halo: Reach! Give us wave-based survival again! If you need a legitimate reason besides us requesting it, a mode like that would be perfect for us to play during content droughts....
-
This would be so much fun and some fresh new gameplay!
