I am 100% sure that this topic will be lost in the forum page, but nonetheless, i feel obligated to write it anyway. I am not a well known individual or anything like that, as a matter of fact; i am nothing more than a mere casual who enjoys Destiny. What i am here for is a small and friendly reminder to all of my guardian fellows who might stumble upon this thread: TAKE A BREAK. Seriously, take a break from the game. Do not burn your self out. I've played this game religiously for the past 3 years and oh my god do i regret it. My combined 28 days total game play can vouch for my addiction (there were time when i couldnt play) but now i look back at this passion and think "how did i play this?" Please, do not make the same mistake as me and burn yourself out. Take a break, try a different game for a few hours, dont grind for anything in the game, the less you grind for something in the game, the more you'll enjoy the game overall.
Please fellow guardians, dont burn yourselves out, and may the traveler's light guide you towards victory.

3 RepliesI wonder how bungie likes this post? bungie we need to leave your game and Xmas wasn't even a month ago. nothing new till April. I just read an AMA on reddit about cheating on PvP. self professed cheater said he consistently cheated for 5 mouths straight before you took away his trials gear and that's it...smh

1 ReplyI have almost 2000 hours into this game and yes I have taken several breaks and played other games. I do enjoy destiny the most of all the games I have played.
-
Edited by Packis: 1/24/2017 3:08:24 AMI'm taking a break right meow. 59 hours so far. Only deleted two chars but 😔 Might hop back on, on reset. For everyone else. Take this guys advice, this game is great. But life is full of opportunities, visit your friends, family. Let them know you love em. And you might get to do something fun like going out to eat. Going on dates, fishing, hunting, even helping others I find fun doing. Stay positive Guardians!

I usually take breaks that last a month or two. I come back and it's great.

3 RepliesEdited by bobIin the goblin: 1/23/2017 10:38:09 PM28 days total is addiction, then what the flying feck kind of problems do i have... http://prntscr.com/dzgv5t i mean it's only 11 weeks 1 day 6 hours 32 minutes and 48 seconds right?
this info will be incorrect before 24 hours pass after this post.
also i do take regular 1 or 2 day breaks when i just play yu gi oh with a friend, you are right about that. the farming though i don't agree on i absofeckinglutely love grinding strikes for loop, modifiers are fun and running the thagomizers with a the raid fusion and 300 str is way too much fun. i have builds like this for all modifiers for all characters, titan just happens to be the funnest with arc followed by lock.

Whether we wanted it or not, we've stepped into a war with the Cabal on Mars. So let's get to taking out their command, one by one. Valus Ta'aurc. From what I can gather, he commands the Siege Dancers from an Imperial Land Tank just outside of Rubicon. He's well protected, but with the right dick, we can punch through those defenses, take this bitch out and break her grip on Freehold

1 ReplyYa this game sucks, it's just not that fun anymore. Mostly frustrating 💩👎
-
Yeah but we can't let the game die. This game doesnt suck.

6 RepliesEdited by ScotchEggsRules: 1/24/2017 1:46:21 AMToo late. 2750 hours logged, 100+ days lol Hardly played for 3 months though.

7 Replies28 days?!?! You're a young Guardian lol. Taken a few breaks to play other games and came back to Destiny and it started to feel stale and pop in a different game and rinse and repeat. Currently into The Last of Us, Rise of the Tomb Raider, and Warframe. Watchdogs 2 is waiting on deck and coming down the pipe is Horizon Zero Dawn and Mass Effect. For now my Guardians are working part time and enjoying the downtime at the tower laughing at the newbies as they grind that road to 40/400!!!

I like to play PVP, -blam!- me right?

*tells people not to grind in a game *checks game *it's Destiny *topkek

Edited by RBITOR123: 1/24/2017 1:51:57 AMTook a break for two months. I came back last week for trials, and don't regret leaving.
Anyone who could possibly care, for reasons I don't know, why I don't regret leaving destiny, continue reading. I was playing for fun with my friends. I was running qbb and my clever dragon. (I know your reactions. He says he was playing for fun but uses clever dragon. I really enjoy pulses, especially low rate of fire high impact, but that's not the point) we play the first team and barely win. The next game we lose against a team that was all 400 light with flawless emblems, and by then my party was a little tilted even though I was still pretty calmish.(I know calmish isn't a word). Then we go against teabagging shotgunners, we lose. One of my friends immediately leaves the party and starts overwatch. The other one gets off. I sit there thinking wow do people really think after shotgunning you have a reason to teabag? I then proceed to play overwatch with my friend. Now I come to the forums to see if anything changes, but see the same updates from bungie saying absolutely nothing.
I play my nightfalls through the week, maybe some crucible here and there; and trials on the weekend.
-
1 ReplyI only play trials on the weekends now
-
28 days... Hah..

2 RepliesExactly!! Why do so many people play this game religiously?! No shit it gets boring. The vanilla destiny didn't have a lot of content, but now that's not an excuse. We have plenty of content. If you play every day for hours, you're going to burn through everything very quick. I took about a year break from destiny, although I did play from time to time and it was very satisfying. I recently just got back and started to play it more commonly and it has been very fun and a lot more rewarding. Just, find some other games that you might like. Or just find something new to try and do! Make your free time a bit more diverse.
don't do drugs kids.
warframe is still free and worth checking out just saying

5 Replies28 days is lightweight. At the last count i was 3200 hours. That's gotta be over 130 days!
-
I actually swap to other games a lot of the time. Dark Souls 3 with my friends, World of Final Fantasy (that's the name of the game, no it's not 15, and yes i've been asked wtf i'm talking about by a lot of people, lmao), even back to the remasters of FFX and FFX-2 every now and again. And that, is part of the reason i'm getting my Titan up to 40 now, lol. Wanna get her high enough to srart equipping all the epic gear i have for her!!
-
I'm trying to get my vanguard strike k/d up to 100.00, there is no time to rest
-
Yes I did the same and I'm thinkin the same I grinned since day 1 as if the last month or more I can't play I get on sit in orbit and I'm like na -blam!- this boring shit same ol same ol Destiny 2 I'll be back
