I am 100% sure that this topic will be lost in the forum page, but nonetheless, i feel obligated to write it anyway. I am not a well known individual or anything like that, as a matter of fact; i am nothing more than a mere casual who enjoys Destiny. What i am here for is a small and friendly reminder to all of my guardian fellows who might stumble upon this thread: TAKE A BREAK. Seriously, take a break from the game. Do not burn your self out. I've played this game religiously for the past 3 years and oh my god do i regret it. My combined 28 days total game play can vouch for my addiction (there were time when i couldnt play) but now i look back at this passion and think "how did i play this?" Please, do not make the same mistake as me and burn yourself out. Take a break, try a different game for a few hours, dont grind for anything in the game, the less you grind for something in the game, the more you'll enjoy the game overall.
Please fellow guardians, dont burn yourselves out, and may the traveler's light guide you towards victory.

Not ashamed nor proud of my 56+ days, but I think I've spent a bit too much time in Destiny. However, probably one of the better games I've ever played personally.

Personally, i feel that bungie has absolutely no tucking clue how to keep destiny fresh. A game like destiny needs almost monthly content, and no one better say " they cant do that! Its not possible", warframe is able to do it close to every three weeks. If bungie can figure out to ship out monthly content, destiny would be able to retain its fanbase longer.

3 day break from it so far. Probably going to play some pvp tomorrow and get frustrated after a few matches and take another break lol

1 ReplyEdited by HMWH2: 1/25/2017 7:48:48 AMI bet many posts will say "only 28 days?" And... what does 28 days mean? It's been what, 2,5years since launch. That's 912,5 days. About 45min game time per day. I would call it a habit, not an addiction. On a personal note my own time spent is Titan 30days Warlock 28days Hunter 17days

It's funny when people forget that a game's purpose is to have fun. After working for 8 hours, the last thing I want to do is play a game that feels like more work. If you get bored of a game or you feel stuck in a grind, put in a new game.. or god forbid, get off the couch. TL;DR: no shit, Sherlock 😉
-
1 Reply30/24/12 days on each character and the game is still fun... the moment you forget its just a game for entertainment purposes and start taking stuff personally then you got a problem.
-
I got like 128+ days, he said "28". Weak. I feel like a dreg could kill you at the level 4 Cosmodrome.

1 ReplyTaniks has no House. He kneels before no banner, owes allegiance to no Kell. He is a murderer, and very good at what he does. I have been tracking him since Wolves broke their chains, yes? Now Taniks works for Wolf Pack...but not for long.

1 ReplyDon't let this distract you from the fact that on June 28, 1998, The Undertaker threw Mankind off a Hell in Cell cage. Landing 16' below on a wooden table.

25 RepliesEdited by El_Ronan: 1/24/2017 5:09:22 PMBeen a few months now. Never touched the last event. Didn't care. I will not buy destiny 2. Enough is enough

I quit playing when Fallout 4 came out (which was disappointing, btw) and haven't been back since. This is actually the first time I've been back to the forums since. And it's not because I didn't enjoy Destiny. I did. It had just run its course for me personally. I might jump back in when Destiny 2 comes out (maybe), but until then I'll probably just keep tabs for the sake of Destiny 2 then go from there.

10 RepliesAw look at you and your 28 days addiction... https://twitter.com/ganjatronicals/status/823938317292949504 I'm at 32 weeks. Please tell me there's not going to be an intervention?!

I was horribly ill around the time of House of Wolves, and I grinned Destiny constantly. I went Flawless - everything. However, after getting better and not having the opportunity to sit around all day I ended up seeing gaming as more of a privilege and less of an occupation. Since then, I've taken little "Destiny vacations" every now and then to grant myself fresh eyes when I return. I've found this not only increased the pleasure I have while playing, but my skill in many areas of the game. I agree with every aspect of OPs premise, and I encourage you all to take it seriously. It can do wonders to log off for a month and either migrate to many other different games or simply halt any gaming and immerse yourself in other things.

3 RepliesWhy grind for anything when all they do is nerf it later. Titanfall 2 for a good time
-
3 RepliesThe problem isn't that people get burned out, it's that most people have unrealistic expectations of the amount of content that's "supposed" to be in the game. Then once they "finish" the content that's available, they expect more to be added immediately for some unknown reason. If they don't have new content magically appear every week, then they get upset and cry about a content drought.

bought an xbox and halo 5 and have cured my destiny addiction. woohoo

Taking a break until new content, or destiny 2 comes out
