What do YOU Think Takes More Skill?
There have been many great rivalries throughout history; Batman vs The Joker, Rocky vs Apollo, dogs vs cats etc. But none are as fierce as the greatest rivalry of all: Sniping vs Shotgunning.
This isn't a poll about what you use most, it's a poll about what you think takes more SKILL: Snipers or shotguns.

Snipers can be used at any range seamlessly for a 1 shot kill. They're also consistent.

Ideally if they weren't the go to weapons of the crucible the skill level would be equal. Shotguns would require players to get close to the devastating auto rifles and hand cannons and they would not be capable of just simply rushing down the hallway and soaking up the bullets. Snipers would be able to be countered by pulse rifles and scout rifles so they would likely have to fight carefully and move often or else many of them will be waiting for revive. Right now the big issue is just simply that most primaries can't scare off a sniper or a shotgun rusher so both playstyles are incredibly forgiving and require less skill than they theoretically should.

Push. Snipers are great at precision shooting but suck at movement and positioning. Shotgunners are great at movement and positioning but suck at precision shooting.

They both take knowledge of the game and maps etc and anticipitation of the enemies movements, the rest is purely opinion!

Snipers take more skill to aim. Shotguns take more skill to close the distance and not die before or right after the kill.

Not really a fair question both take high amounts of skill to play against other good players, now pub 6s? depends on what you got killed last by then that one takes less skill

Getting killed and accepting that you were outplayed or made a mistake. Takes crazy skill and its nearly non existent here.

2 RepliesTheir both broken in their own ways.. Sniping : quick scoping shouldn't even be a thing, aim assist on snipers shouldn't be a thing, drag scoping shouldn't be a thing. Shotguns: full auto making them fire quicker shouldn't be a thing, shotgun/melee shouldn't be a thing due to the high kick of a shotgun Full mobility with either of these bigger heavier weapons shouldn't be a thing.

Edited by blade329: 1/17/2017 3:59:50 PMIs this a trick question? There's no doubt it's snipers in this current meta. That doesn't mean that shotguns don't need any skill. I've been frustrated before by some very good players using shotguns. Able to leap/slide into perfect position to take me out. I try to mimic them and I don't seem to be able to do it as effectively. It's also a high risk strategy as you can also be killed very easily by another shotgun player.

They shouldn't even be compared. They are at the complete opposite end of the Battlefield and have totally different uses. Stop fanning the flames of this stupid rivalry.
