Rift is a funny gamemode but it should NOT be IB .. why not let people actually choose what they want to play? rift solo is boring as hell, nothing happens 50% of the time when both teams are waiting for the spark, then its a shootout, then some one grabs the spark, everyone dies, or in a rare occasion the spark gets picked up and 90% of the time the spark runner gets killed because he runs in front without anyone covering him.. on both sides.. so its back to points for killing or not rarely NOONE picks up the spark and they shootout the whole time at the charging spot.. *weeee* solution: have an NPC be the runner and the guradians need to protect him..

2 RepliesWhoever thought that bringing rift back to iron banner was a good idea needs to be fired asap. Ib should be strictly clash and that's it. I've been put in the middle of matches all day today cause if you're going into rift ib with no team you will lose everytime.

I understand Bungie modeled this game to be team based, so I accepted it and just left to play other games ...Waiting for the SWITCH !! [spoiler]But ill NEVER leave the forum, Guardian Radio, Datto, or Briar Rabbit because I have to stay in the know just in case BUNGIE revamps this thing and do something to peak my interest, again....Because ROI burned me when I thought I could get the Ornaments by simply playing, not going to the LH or shelling out my cash... so sad and bad for me [/spoiler]

6 RepliesI wasn't going to play it because it was by far the worst experience I've ever had in IB the last time it was around. I was sitting here bored and figured I'd entertain the idea that I might like it this time. No. Spawned in to a 5,000 to 300 score game. Full squad of 6 vs solo's that quite possibly were holding their guns backwards.

2 RepliesEdited by Jykeous: 12/7/2016 11:23:09 PMI think the problem is that the match making system will put 6-man fireteams against a team of solos and absolutely destroy them, especially in objective game types like rift. For instance, solos should be matched against solos and firetems against similarly sized fireteams. If teams were similar in this regard I think things would be much better, though still not perfect.

They even said it was a bad fit for IB themselves. This mode is the worst for IB.

15 RepliesI'm a solo player and have always liked rift. First time aying it for IB and at first was apprehensive about it because it is a TEAM effort. But in most cases as a solo player I can hold my own and fill as the runner or as a support. So I liked IB as rift.

I like how in the stream with DeeJ and Derek they said they would never do Rift for IB again because "it was such a poor fit" and yet here we are. I wish these -blam!-ers would quit lying about everything.

1 ReplyEdited by RAIST5150: 12/7/2016 11:22:33 PMmeh... cleared the IB bounties and the weekly crucible one was also Rift....was rank 4 before I knew it. Didn't take much more effort to go ahead and hit rank 5....in one night. If not for them dropping the Dawning event next week, really wouldn't have much of any incentive to log in again until the next IB. 399.9 light after last night's drops. Just one more piece and my two key PVP/PVE sets are both at 400. Anything received after that would just be basically topping off alternate gears or maybe replacing an existing one for one with better stats/perks on them. If Dawning doesn't offer much to hold my interest, I may be the once a month player for a while. About 1/3 the way through the new Tomb Raider and have other games I haven't even started....not to mention more new games on the horizon as well. Hate to say it, but Destiny is pretty much on the back burner for me at this point. Sure I'm not the only one.

6 RepliesMakes you wonder how many people are even bothering to play Iron Banner this month. Not only is the game lacking content at the moment, but they made Rift the game mode this time. Rift is fun, but it shouldn't be placed in Iron Banner where it can get too one-sided really easily.

I had some close matches and some blowouts. It got frustrating when it started to put me on teams of 4 and 5 against other full teams. If I wanted to play on one, I'd post and join one. Then there were the occasional rift spawn campers. One bannerfall map, the other team got both heavies and proceeded to camp our spawn with swords, chopping at us as soon as we'd spawn in. And considering they had sufficient ammo, it went on for way to long. But overall, I haven't hated it as much as I thought. Sure, red bars....lag, the usual, but it hasn't been horrible. Drops haven't been horrible either. If it wasn't for them, there'd be no one playing. I've been getting weapons to drop, but no armor and my packages haven't warranted any celebrations as most of it was something I already had or didn't want. This is just one mans opinion or experience. So if your having a rough go at it, I understand and hope things get a little better for you as the IB progresses.

9 RepliesI must chime in on this subject. After attempting to run the spark on multiple matches and getting no support while attempting to slam the spark I decided to just defend the spark spawn area and let one of the random teammates get the spark. Game changer right there! I went from being placed on teams that were losing game after game to rattling off 10 wins in a row with the same lobby. I ran last night as a solo guardian and it turned out to be super fun! So my suggestion for those who are finding rift a trying event this week, dedicate yourself to being the spark spawn defender.

I also hate Rift, but last night was the best I have ever done in that game mode. I just don't like game modes that force everyone into the same spots on the maps. Too predictable.

2 RepliesIt can be really dumb. I have experienced some lag, but not too much. I don't think there is too much sbmm is in it, because I deleted a char, and then went into Ib with an unupgraded voidwalker and pulled a 3.1 kd after normally having a 1.7ish. Just my XP tho.

I like it when I have a team to coordinate with. Solo is not so fun.
