I was playing some casual PvP today. I didn't want to put myself in loads of sweaty situations, just chill and blast some people using either my NLB or Elevating Vision.
I had one player, in a game, send me a lengthy series of voice messages filled with profanity and suggestions of how I should play the game.
I appreciate your opinion that I should "Stop being a filthy scrub and use a f*****g real primary like Clever Dragon" but to be frankly honest... I couldn't give a damn what YOU think I should use. I paid for this game, the same as you. I have every right to use whatever guns/setup I want without some sweaty douche bag, flying around with their Juggernaut/Twilight Garrison/Matador 64 with maxed out range, telling me what I should be running.
I didn't do particularly well, it's just that my play style countered theirs pretty well. I'm pretty hella average at Destiny. I wasn't pulling off any crazy snipes or massive long range kills with my fusion either. I just play the game and I get smack talk from people like this. I know not everyone is like this but it just riles me when the few are like this.
Some people in this community are such bloody elitists. Also, I doubt that you do work for Microsoft and you are going to "get my ass banned" through mass reporting with your friend.

And NLB actually takes skill to use screw the douche bag that uses mapador

Someone sent me a message like that before back in year 2 telling me to use the "meta"

Edited by Impurity41: 12/10/2016 3:37:07 AMJust don't take it personally. Some guy sent me a voice message in trials yelling profanities because I was using invective. Yknow what I did? I told my friends to get their invectives and replied to the guy with a voice message of me laughing. The way that dude sounded was hilarious. He was mad and did the bad decision of trying to make me feel bad. Unfortunately for him, it didn't work, and all he got was a trials pubstomp from my team.
when people do stuff like that, don't take it personally. Let their immature asses get pissy and you focus on having a good time. You will never see them again
79 RepliesXbox is full of competitive players who want to win. If you wanna do that silly casual gameplay then I suggest switching to playstation.

Didn't read.

2 RepliesAs long as you don't use clever dragon or cross mapador, you're good in my book

11 RepliesLet me tell you a story... I was never a shotgun fan, in PVP or PVE. I always favoured fusion rifles. Usual setup was Bad Juju Fusion (mixed it up a bit between a few different ones but did like the Darkblades Spite) Rocket Launcher My K/D was middle of the road - Not too bad but not too good either. Then one day, I was going through my vault and found that I had a Matador and remembered everyone was talking about them in PVP so I decided to give it a go. The 1st thing I noted (almost immediately) was how much easier PVP became. I consistently had a positive k/d and usually finished matches in the top 2. That's when the messages started - Usual stuff, "Scrub", "use primary's", "@sshole" etc. Using shotguns in PVP is causing me to be better at the game. Should I go back to Fusions to keep some bitter people happy? Don't hate the player, hate the game!!

Of course they don't work for Microsoft!! No doubting there.

Well now I just want to tell you more

1 ReplyI teabag all Clever Dragon users. They usually message "Why, WTF" When I ask what their primary weapon is, they get so defensive. Lol
-
4 RepliesWhy do I never believe these type of stories? I used to play a lot of Battlefield and stay in the same tank the entire match without dying. I'd shoot down choppers and jets too... and I very rarely got hate mail, only the occasional "good game". When people say they get a lot of hate mail, I simply don't believe them. Either these stories are lies or massive exaggerations. I figure people get ONE single hate message and then proceed to make a massive forum post about it.

1 ReplyEdited by PushedBean764: 12/7/2016 12:10:53 PMI'm not sure if this is related, but in IB earlier, I saw this guy standing in place just spinning around the entire match. So I reported him as Unhelpful + Inactivity, then sent him a message saying, "Please leave if you aren't going to play." He left the match as we were winning and about a minute later, sent me a message saying, "Shut up." I was tempted to send him, "We don't need people like you who rubber band your controllers and abuse the RNG system," but I didn't actually send it, and just deleted the conversation.

In PS you can set your account to receive mails only from friends.. I dont know about xbox

First off, you were "triggered". Have a wet nap and cup of cool shush. Secondly, did you assume that guardian's gender? Just wow...

1 ReplyHaha, I remember this one time... I was looking in LFG a group to do WotM w/challenge, and found this post looking for members. I messaged him with my class and light lv and asked if I could join. He sent me a party invite and I plug on my mic. As soon as I join I notice I have NAT issues with one person (out of 3), so I exit the party and rejoin in, no more NAT issues, then I join the fireteam. 5 seconds later the guy who invited me kicks me from the party and fireteam, without notice. I messaged him: "Why invite me if you are going to kick me anyways?" Anything from "Sorry, I needed to put in my friend/clanmate" "I don't like your connection" "I invited more than I thought" anything really, and I would have understood. But what did he replied with? "Kys" ... ... Really? That's the best thing you can come up with? If you are going to insult me at least put some effort in it.
-
Perhaps you should just quit destiny or perhaps block messeges that aren't from friends Idk if that last one is a thing but it really should be.
-
I would send you a series of messages too.
A series of messages complementing you for not using "Meta" weapons, and wish you a nice day😉
-
only one message like that? I get messages from A-holes every time I play this game which isn't very often anymore.
-
3 RepliesEdited by Raider TCK: 12/7/2016 3:35:41 PMIt's called playing. You should be having fun. That's how you should be playing. To have fun. I swear some people treat this game like their job and their Elo like their income. And thanks to SBMM it's what destiny has started too feel like.
-
Play better
-
Stop telling me what to do.
-
And it's people like you that are the reason Bungie never included matchmaking in Nightfall or Raids.
-
I usually sit there and wait till they say either racist or kys type comments and hit them with that crispy report nothing better then watching those kind of players getting there psn or gtags temp banned
