On the topic of Religion
There have been a lot of hate going among Atheist/Christians and Christians/Muslims today in our world and on this site for a number of reasons. I get it though, people with opposed opinions are subject to clash with each other, but it's starting to get thrown out of hand...
I would like to start by saying I AM A CHRISTIAN just to get it out of the way and to let you know where my beliefs stand. I do not agree with gay marriage, I am against abortions and I believe if one does not believe that Jesus died on the cross for our sins that said person is going to go to Hell when they die...
I would then like to bring up the main issue at hand. People just can't get along. There are going to be people with different views than you out there.
If you are an Atheist you will more than likely:
- have a christian try to spread the word to you
- have a Christian bash you or talk down to you for your beliefs
- get into religious, one on one convos with Christians.
If you are Christian you will more than likely:
- be bashed by Atheist about your religion
- get in a religious conversation with an atheist
The above applies to all other religions as well.
...people argue that, "oh well why should I treat an Islamic person the same as everyone else if most terrorists are Islam?"...

•Mao Zedong was Atheist
My point being all religions have had people who give that religion bad names.
Nobody is perfect and not everyone is going to agree on everything, but the most important thing for us to do is respect each other's beliefs and opinions to create a healthier environment for everyone.

4 RepliesMy problem with theism is that while there are billions of people-Muslims, Christians, Catholics, and Jews- who believe in and worship the God of Abraham, there are almost as many different opinions on what that God wants and what his followers should believe. They can't agree on whether or not homosexuality is OK, whether or not evolution is real, and so many other things. There are so many different ways of worshipping the same deity that, even if I believed in God, I'd have no idea what I was supposed to do about it.

So according to this I'm safe, even though I'm an atheist. Well this is a new one. You're very open to us non-believers.

6 RepliesI just see religion as a way of life. It doesn't matter to me if you're Muslim, Christian, Hindu, or even atheist. We were all forged the same way, it's just the way people explain how we came to be is different. I personally think the human race should just stop bickering and get along.

4 RepliesAthiests aren't part of a sect, the only requirement is to lack belief in a deity. Athiest 1 could believe the world is a floating potato and athiest 2 could believe we were made by a giant gingerbread man they're still athiests. While to be a Christian you need to believe in a God, need to have communion, need to know the bible, need to think we were specifically placed on Earth and handpicked.

There is no room for gods or faith with a dictator. Believing in gods would mean the dictator is not the most powerful ruler in all the land.
