So its election day, last day to get out there and vote! I dont care who you support but if you dont vote you have ABSOLUTELY no right to complain no matter what happens under either candidate.
Its that simple folks because one is going to get in at this point whether you like it or not. And until the party system is abolished completely, something i support personally, this is how it will be.
Not voting now and bitching about what happens means you are nothing more than a hypocrite. If you chose not to vote you must recognize this facet of your choices and also realize that even not making a choice still has repercussions.
Edit: Ok it is important to note. If you vote 3rd party or even write in you are still voting. This is directed at people who will not vote at all. Not voting at all is staying silent and not standing for anything while bitching about the outcome.

3 RepliesEdited by RedAlertSteve: 11/9/2016 8:36:14 PMIf you didn't vote then your not an idiot. Not Manipulated by media. I have a say and there nothing you can do about it.

4 RepliesWhen the electoral college is broken, your vote doesn't matter. If I pay taxes, then I do get to voice my opinion.. why? Cuz it's an opinion.. OP seems upset
-
I voted. So I get to say "suck it" to all the liberals out there.
-
That's not true. What about the states that didn't let you write in 3rd party? Or one of the hundreds of closed voting spaces that decided to close? Also there is a thing called protesting both candidates and saying "Neither of the are good enough"
-
Thanks for voicing your opinion, but I don't need it.
-
Nah. I have right to vote or not...doesn't correspond to my freedom of speech

Edited by BanditNation: 11/13/2016 3:56:45 AMI'm basically mute anyway, so my voice is technically void either way.
-
2 RepliesTechnically your vote doesn't count. It's put into your state and your state puts it's electoral votes based on its people's. Does it count? No. Does it influence the real vote? Yeah, pretty much.
-
I voted but Trump was going to take Louisiana anyway.

I agree. If you dont vote, ypu are accountable.

Nice b8 m8!

Lol. I'll just leave this here. http://imgur.com/uhJoSv4

Or in other words. You didn't vote, shut up.
-
I don't like either candidate so I used my right not to vote..a criminal vs a racist bigot. Those were pretty much my only options and I have every right to complain. If you vote someone in and they are terrible then you are partially responsible for the mess and I'll let you know about it.
-
24 RepliesAlso a reminder: Voting for president isn't the only issue on the ballot. Even if you hate all the options for president, you should vote on state and local issues, measures, and candidates which will likely effect you more directly.

https://www.bungie.net/en/Forum/Post/217678338/0/0 Silence doesn't void voices. Actions speak louder than any words.
-
So the 11k people who voted for a dead gorilla still have a voice?
-
I regret not voting
-
1 ReplyThe candidates present don't deserve the power of my civic duties. Kidding, I thought the candidates were all undesirable, but I'm not complaining, let's see how Trump claims he can get things done.
Wouldnt it be crazy if Trump was the greatest president the US has ever seen, like, he alone puts us into a Golden Age. Would be mind blowing
-
Well I'm not American, but according to OP my voice is voided

5 RepliesCrooked Donald!!! Release your tax returns!!!

Edited by DMGRGN: 11/9/2016 7:45:46 AMActually, by voting, you are agreeing to the results regardless of whether or not it ends up being the person you voted for. So YOU have no right to complain, because you chose to play a table where the house always wins. I, on the other hand, know that the house and everyone involved with it are cheating, so i refuse to play, and that gives me every right to complain. I won't, because shit happens and complaining about it doesn't change a damn thing, but i have more of a right to do so than you do, and that's a fact.

This honestly is an issue I grapple with every presidential election. It's easy to say and something we hear all the time "If you don't vote then you can't complain" But it's something I actually fundamentally disagree with. First of all: -If you are uninformed don't vote. You're either flipping a coin, voting for a face, or giving someone else a second vote. Don't encourage uninformed people to vote, I have no idea why people think this a good idea and we attempt to peer pressure people into voting who have no interest in politics, it's just stupid. I have yet to hear a good argument for why this helps anyone or anything. More on topic: -If you vote you are buying into the system. You are giving the system credit and placing your faith in it. By voting you give up your freedom and opinions to the will of the electoral college. You agree to submit to whoever wins based on this system you agree to be apart of. So really, if you vote and take part in the system you lose all right to complain. The system you took part in and trust and feel is expressing your views and the views of the nation decided and now since you don't like the outcome you complain? It's rather hypocritical. Those who say -blam!- the system it doesn't work have the right to complain. By abstaining from voting you are either saying that you don't care or you don't buy the system and it doesn't work for you so why waste your time by doing a pointless action to legitimize it. It's safe to say neither candidate this election truly appealed to the masses so why compromise your true beliefs and lower yourself to choosing between the lesser of two evils? Demand better candidates, demand a different system, don't just fall in line and cast a vote for some asshole you don't believe in. Do I think this is the most effective method for demonstrating you want change? No. but I can see the logic and really of all people those who refuse to vote have the most right to complain in my eyes. I think write-ins and blank ballots can accomplish a similar effect but still in some ways it still will inflate the voter turn out numbers and create the public image that more people are satisfied with the system than truly are. I could go on and on about problems with people's voting mentalities but I'll stop here.

Even if I could have voted, it wouldn't have mattered because Marco Rubio won state Senate anyway.
