all 3 bbc--> longest running TV show in history: Dr. who Russia has some good movies like nightwatch& daywatch as well as lots of good classical musicians like Tchiakovsky (they also make better rocket engines than USA) Japan has anime movies n tv and vocaloid music as well as good (rating wise) J-pop music and J-rock music, they are also very good with jazz music. also video game music from Japan is phenomenal. the French have several of their own styles of cinema; as well as amazing movies like Léon Lá Professionalé (idk spelling sry but its an amazing movie) South Korea has some highly acclaimed TV (havent seen it myself tho) most of Europe has great music Canadian TV isnt bad. Latin America has good music, south America too. (also most disney animated stuff is actually made in China an Singapore btw, like drawn/rendered there) so yea stuff is actually pretty good in most places.

  • Plenty of TV shows have been on longer than Doctor Who. It is the longest running Sci-Fi show though.

Dr Who began in 1963 and ran until 1989, then they made a feature film Dr Who which went in cannon with series and had it's own version of the Dr featured only in that film. then the series got rebooted and is the show we know to day. effectively the same series (which did not spin off and still remains sequentially cannon) has run from 1963 to now with a short break in which the series did not run in the 1990s. that is the longest running show series in history. the simpsons comes in at a close second. if you were to watch every Old Dr Who episode and the film from the 1990s back to back with no breaks it would take you 12.17 days. and thats not including the new rebooted series episodes or new movies or spinoffs. how many other shows have 12.17 days worth of video footage in the show? an mind you thats only the old series, the new rebooted series would take an additional 4 days nearly the spin offs would add between 6 and 8 days. theres not much out there that breaks the 8 to 10 days worth of footage hours TV show wise.

Don't lecture me on how much Doctor Who there is bucko ; I was watching the classic series before you were able to talk. I bet you haven't even heard of some of the Expanded Universe. Blue Peter has been running since the mid 50s, only recently been cancelled. The Sky at Night has been running since the late 40s. And that's just BBC shows. Just look at all these shows you have no idea even exist yet have been going on longer. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_longest-running_television_shows_by_category Doctor Who is the longest running Science Fiction series.

ive been watching the show on n off for 20 years. im not a kiddo. there aren't many shows that run that long with out going into spinoff theres an insane amount of footage hours for something that is one single near uninterrupted cannon series. an on science fiction; any show that lasts more than 5 seasons is considered an outstanding success.
