So with 4.00 you can turn on HDR now, if you have a 4K TV, enable it on TV and ps4 and see the visuals be transformed. Absolutely incredible transformation.
Edit 1) so your ps4 needs 4.00 update, then settings then sound and screen and enable it there.
The TV needs it enabling also, on my LG it's under advanced and Ultra HD HDR it's only on hdmi 1. Other manufacturers I'm unsure of.
Edit 2) the screenshots and video I took don't show the true differences. So I got pics I took of my mates TV, and mine using a phone. In a roundabout way it's better to show the differences

it actually looks pretty bad on mine. all the lights are way too bright and have a halo affect around them. the environments with green sky have rays of green light all over.

1 ReplyLmao destiny never had hdr u guys can't be this dum
-
1 ReplyI agree after turning HDR on the graphical improvement was astounding. If this increase is without HDR patches. I can't wait to see what it's like when it's been patched.
-
5 RepliesScreenshot doesn't mean to take a picture of your screen with a camera.

Edited by Barrier: 9/14/2016 5:20:47 PMMine apparently activated automatically & activates my "game mode" on my monitor automatically too when I power up the PS4. I used to have to turn it on manually before. Love it!
-
Did you take the picture with an HDR toaster? Impressive.
-
1 ReplySo how exactly do you do this?
-
1 ReplyMy blacks are already too black on my 4K. I spent multiple minutes trying to run into a cave on the moon, but instead was running into the wall two feet to the left of the opening. Glad no other players were in the area.
-
5 RepliesIt's interesting that you would see any difference at all since no titles for ps4 currently support hdr.
-
1 ReplyWatch for display lag.
-
1 ReplyHow do I do this, recently bought one last week.
-
2 RepliesAny screen shots m8? Hope you can get some uploaded.

and no lag?
-
Input lag tho

6 RepliesIt Isnt the real HDR It's a software emulating thing because HDMI 1.4 cannot do Full HDR like HDMI 2.0a
-
Yeah I have a 4K tv. When I turned it on wow it got rid of the grainy screen and it looks great
-
Just did it now. It's so beautiful, it's entirely different from before :O
-
...only capable TVs not necessarily 4K...
-
Does this work with monitors as well?

6 RepliesEdited by B00ZE CLUEZ: 9/14/2016 12:18:46 AMUh... since when does ps4 have hdr? edit: they added it with an update?
-
This is one of the reasons why I need a new TV
-
5 RepliesI know hardly anything about TV's and all that but I'm curious about the film grain on Destiny. Would HDR and 4k amplify that filter effect in the game?
