I've seen a lot of guys requiring guys to be 330+ to join a raid. Why? Are you that bad? Okay that was a little uncalled for, but seriously, level means next to nothing when you can get to 335 without ever being in a raid.
I took a little vacation from my console while I was moving and the max level went from 320 to 335. The HM raid was a cake walk at 310, and after playing it again, it's still a cake walk at 310. I played the other day with a guy almost 10 levels higher than me, and I was teaching him the raid.
A better judge of one's ability to assist in a raid is his emblems, his grimoire raid stats, and the most important his ability to communicate effectively. If you feel you need 330 or higher, you're doing it wrong.
Edit: So many good reply's, even ones that disagree, so I won't try and respond to all of them, but thank you. I hope this conversation has resulted in at least a little education for some. Remember, raid experience and communication skill are the most important factors in a raid. Light level comes in afterwards.

1 ReplyWhile I do not agree with having requirements like that, I do wonder how anyone experienced in kfhm would be below 330 by now.
-
1 ReplyBunghole made reaching 335 easy as shyittt Lots of imposters out there lol.
-
305 or higher should be valid for hard mode.
-
1 ReplyEveryone who makes a post requiring 330+ screams pathetic to me. And bad.
-
It's because people now are able to be 320+ without doing the raid. I don't have the time to teach someone the raid, I just want to get it done.
-
3 RepliesYea..the other day I was scrolling through LFG and saw some dude say, "MUST BE 330+" on the friggin NIGHTFALL. Lol for real?
-
3 RepliesLol @ when hard mode dropped and a team of 315+ could still beat Oryx. What a bunch of wussies.
-
I'd literally wear vanilla gear and be asked to do the raid, asking me if I know how to do it too. I lied and got in too. I like it how they thought of me as a scrub/noob. No one ever bothered to look at grimoire score, only by light level. When the raid group starts to fails alot more, they question me to stay, but to their surprise, I get serious and switch out gears and weapons. XD I tend to do raids for fun, fool around cuz I already know what I'm doing. I tend to dance randomly or fist bump everyone with the emote. That sometimes gets me kicked from the group....especially with squeakers that invited me to do the raids. XD

1 ReplyNo joke, i saw a dude yesterday posting for 330+, must have done the raid numerous timesx must be good at pve and know what to do, etc etc, must be this, must be that. Dude was a 318 with zero raid completions. I commented on it yesterday, but like just say you need a carry, without all the exaggerated prequisites
-
I've almost beaten Oryx on hard twice, and i'm pretty good at running centre as a Defender after some normal completions too. Yet because I've got to the very last phase of the fight but sadly a teammate was unable to detonate their bombs, does it make me inexperienced at Oryx? It's another reason why you can never truly judge someone's ability and aptitude until you actually load into the raid with them
-
I tried to help Sherpa three guys on a Normal KF today, and it was their first run. We couldn't even beat Daughters, and one guy could not understand what counter clockwise meant. It was pretty funny to explain what was going to happen, then watch a guy jump on the first plate then jump immediately to the daughters, then off the map. Haha.

2 RepliesElitists are usually bad kids that NEED every little advantage in their favor just to win. Real Raiders just play the raid and do their best to fight off the real plagues of raids like Zoo Errors and enemies that can teleport and restore their health or even revive themselves.
-
4 RepliesTomorrow, I will need help with Golgoroth Challenge mode. I have 49 out of 50 calcified fragments, and everything else completed for Y2 MoT. I want to do it on normal just so I can get it done quickly. Almost all of my PS4 friends stopped playing Destiny
-
I was with a group of all raid newbies yesterday, some even higher light than me due to playing other activities
-
5 RepliesI really hope it takes much more skill to get max light like before april update its dumb seeing nubs 335 when they don't deserve it when new content comes out these fake 335s will suffer.

Edited by CountyCheese770: 8/9/2016 2:28:46 AMWhile I don't care about your light level or grimoire, if you'll listen and do what others are telling you it's not an issue. I've played with many friends who left the game and came back and wanted to run the hard mode raid at 311, 313, 319. No problem, failed a couple times but got it going in the end. Didn't take that long so all is good. Destiny should go to max armor ONLY dropping from raids. Weapons, whatever drop from anywhere IDK. If we've learned anything it's that light level doesn't mean anything as far as what you can complete in this game. You don't have to be 335 to do the raid, the nightfall, the weekly, ANYTHING. So why not drop max light armor from the raid ONLY? Plus people want to look at Destinytracker.com to see how many raids you've completed. I personally have deleted and started numerous characters for various reason. So that's logic is not sound. I've ran VoG more than most people on 3 characters for months before I finally got fatebringer but doesn't get listed as raid completion because after Templar a lot of people leave and everybody say's "maybe next time".

Anyone who equips raid emblem is usually a scrub. 335 light is easy to get, surprised everyone isn't by now.
-
Never done it without at least 2 people at or below 315
-
let me educate you originally it was known that if you asked for the highest light or even grimoire then it was basically making sure that you got experienced players who didnt need to have stuff explained. but since ttk and april update there is no way to make sure. since you can get to 335 from heroic strikes and factions. plus with toobs haveing a mainly 3000-3500 grimoire. so you cant use light or grimoire consistently/reliably anymore, but we still do for some dumb reason.

3 RepliesPeople still raid?
-
If people request that I like to ask them if they're new to raiding, and are they going to need help because I'm looking to get it done quickly
-
It doesn't matter, true. Most players are 330+ anyway, rookies and expert alike. Asking for that won't guarantee much of anything. Just as likely to wipe repeatedly on totems or Oryx either way.

Considering I've been through several raids where we don't get shit done, if I can easily classify you in whatever sense that shows you know what your doing... Ima mofokin classify. I would love to join a clan that does the raid often but, hell I don't even do the raid anymore since randoms don't know that they're doing and end up spending hours on just one part. It's a shame considering I really do like the raid, but it's been ruined for me by plenty of teams that end up leaving or dragging on the raid.
