330+...? Really you can't handle the Raid below that?
I've seen a lot of guys requiring guys to be 330+ to join a raid. Why? Are you that bad? Okay that was a little uncalled for, but seriously, level means next to nothing when you can get to 335 without ever being in a raid.
I took a little vacation from my console while I was moving and the max level went from 320 to 335. The HM raid was a cake walk at 310, and after playing it again, it's still a cake walk at 310. I played the other day with a guy almost 10 levels higher than me, and I was teaching him the raid.
A better judge of one's ability to assist in a raid is his emblems, his grimoire raid stats, and the most important his ability to communicate effectively. If you feel you need 330 or higher, you're doing it wrong.
Edit: So many good reply's, even ones that disagree, so I won't try and respond to all of them, but thank you. I hope this conversation has resulted in at least a little education for some. Remember, raid experience and communication skill are the most important factors in a raid. Light level comes in afterwards.

I had to walk 5 kids through the HM crota raid the other day. They were all 334. It was a painful 3 hours but i finally got the crux. Karma i think

3 RepliesIt's for experience, not damage output / input. A 335 is typically experienced do it should be a smooth raid. I will say I've raided lately with 320s+ and they can't beat it.

Wouldn't know you plight, never have issues with getting into raid groups, and haven't actively done raids for acouple months now. No point when all my builds are 335 and my vault is full of 335 guns and armor :\

We have a 334 in the clan who hasn't raided so we have been helping him with the Raid. That light level with no experience of the raid makes the raid a bit more time consuming . That is no reflection on my clan mate as it is good to help him but an experienced 310 is more effective if you want a fast run. We are happy to help anyone regardless of light level or experience. Raiding is an experience of its own and if players haven't done it then that is a shame.

only bad people think requiring 330+ for raids makes them bad. these are people that did the raid when the cap was 320, when the raid first came out probably. people that put those requirements just want to get through the raid fast and go onto other things. now I am not saying a 302 can't run through the raid fast, but its just something about seeing. when you see someone 330, you kind of assume they know the raid and can do it fast without any issues. If you see someone driving an expensive car, you kind of assume they are rich. doesn't always mean they are.

i went on an alt account at 304 light in hard. 3/5 330+ guys kept dying on TOTEMS. i managed to keep alive all the way up to golgy where i held gaze. its sad how bad some people are.

3 RepliesI don't know what the stats are, but it does feel like the damage output of a 335 vs a 320 is significant. I could be crazy but I don't think I am. I'm not saying a skilled 320 can't whoop Oryx's ass, but they aren't doing the same damage. This being said, I've been in some botched raids that were full of 335's in head to toe IB and ToO gear.... Experience does go a long way.

1 ReplyWe regularly and fairly easily beat the raid with 4-5 below 320 light. Usually only one or two 334-335. People have always been light/weapon snobs in lfg. It makes them feel better about having a shat life I assume. He who requires high light probably has low skill level. Take comfort in that.

1 Replypeeps still raid? its broken and the rewarss are terrible. Aint worth the hassle. Only ever been one true raid and they've never topped the VoG. Vex mytho was the true reward, awesome raid and was hard.

I ask for experienced players because I've ran with total nuggets who can't comprehend simple instructions. I also say I will be checking the amount of King's fall competitions just in case they bs me.

5 RepliesIt's easier to finish the raid with players that have a lot of experience, and sense there's a lot of ways to get 335 it shouldn't be that hard making it to 330.

I got kicked from a HM group at 317 light level since I took a break from gaming (had to make money) but know all the fights and strategies and the group leader had never completed the raid.

2 RepliesMy guess is they have no idea the other players skill level....u can easily get it done way under that light but if u don't know the players skill level it's not a bad idea to get players w high light....if ur not 330 light by now u prob are new or just started playing again...I understand that requirements can be crazy but u can't hate on them for it...

I agree to a point. I was on my sons account this weekend leveling up his titan wich was 318. All i needed were a couple pulrple armor just to infuse to be 333. But have the groups i tryed to join didnt want to let me seeing my level. Funny thing is i was the only one not dying and had to teach the groul how to do things. On the other note it takes to much time to get that groul with 2-3 guys that have never done it and u have to babysit the whole time. I can see both ways. Thats why i always put pmease know what ur doing not level cap
