Want more customization options? Let us "evolve" blue gear, the best looking gear in the game.
So recently in Destiny, I kind of ran out of things to hunt for. Then one day, I was killed by a Scipio-E sniper rifle in the Crucible. I had never heard of it, so I inspected the user to be amazed at how incredible this sniper looked. The next day, I deleted my Titan and started a new one, transferring blue engrams I would stock up from my Hunter and Warlock to it so I could decrypt them into Vanilla-era blue weapons. When my Titan was around level 12, I finally got a Scipio-E. But also in the meantime, I dropped a ton of various blue weapons that look absolutely fantastic.
It's great using them in Crucible, but I think it would be fantastic to either add infusion to blue items, or add a system that allows us to upgrade them to Legendary and then infuse them, to truly maximize the amount of customization one can use. These weapons and armor still wouldn't be on the same level as most Legendaries, as they would still maintain the perks they had when blue, just allow them to be infused and used in end-game activities.
And this is primarily because, most blues look better than any of the Legendaries in this game. Here are just a ton of examples from my own personal collection:

Basically, I find myself using blues more often than Legendaries lately just for the variety. I know there are more blues that look fantastic that I don't have, like the Evergreen pulse or the Stalker BNGL scout.
I just wanna see more variety in this great game, and I know I'm not alone.
TL;DR
Blues should have a way to upgrade them so that they can be able to be used in places other than standard Crucible, bringing variety to the game and more customization.
TLTL;DR;DR
Pretty blues. Make Purple.
EDIT: I'm amazed at the reception this post has gained! Most people have called me silly for farming for these guns, but I'm glad to see so many others appreciate the cosmetics in this game. I'm gonna be editing as I go, adding more guns as I drop them, as the grind is still going strong.

7 RepliesTo be honest a lot of the Warlock Y2 gear looks pretty ugly. One of the main reasons I mained a Warlock in Y1 was because I wanted the cool looking overcoats. I seriously want some badass looking trench coats in Rise of Iron or at least something that looks better than the ugly robes from TTK.

4 RepliesYea im on the grind for every single high impact sniper in the game, i currently have all of them except for: - The Supremacy - Known Horizon - Civilian Applications I cant get supremacy anymore and both KH and CA are from TDB and i dont know how to get then. The guns that i still need to get (that i also know how to get) are: - Avenue A (28 poe as a random reward drop) - Tomyris (blue engrams on an under levelled character) - Silvered Boudicca-D (random crucible drop as an under levelled character) If anyone knows how to get the Known Horizon and the Civilian Applications right now, please hmu :)

1 Reply100% would love to see this! I have some badass blue armor in my vault that I would love to ascend to Legendary or Exotic. I think that you should need to level 25 with a faction ( like exotic faction items quests ) and then you can buy a item that you can trade to Xur for an item that will allow you to ascend your blue gear to purple. Also, they can make it so you need to maybe use 2 legendary engrams of the same item / 25-30 armor material / 3500 glimmer / 25-30 planet materials. just an idea but I would love to see this. Or, make it a special week long thing like Festival of the Lost where you need to do a mini quest to unlock the item needed and then take it to a certain vendor for only that time to upgrade the item and still need to have all the required items I posted above. They did this with the blue masks that you could upgrade to legendary with the right items.

We can already "evolve" our blue sparrows, they should definitely expand with armor and weapons.

They should just have an outfit slot for each armor piece and let you stamp onto it what armor look you want.

As you notice rare (and uncommon) weapons usually don't have as high stats and have fewer perks. So why not let us infuse any weapon? Seems like a no-brainer.

Warlock seraph armour sets, mmm, makes me happy. Anyway!...I agree man, felt this way for a while regarding the blue and green gear, some of it looks sooo much better.

They should add an option to transmute weapon appeal or colors. I wouldnt mind paying legendary marks to transmute gear and weapons.

I mean take a look at the first curse/ swords. You need to bring up their light level by infusing them and then once you get to a certain light level, the last node/ exotic mission is unlocked and it allows you to progress further. They could TOTALLY work this system into blues and essentially truly let us customize our favorite characters with our favorite armor/ weapons. Even with greens. Maybe you have to infuse a weapon that is the same type and one rarity higher in order to "ascend" the gun. That way the green weapons that the gunsmith sells wouldn't be a complete waste of space. The gun that you're leveling up could even inherit perks from the fuel you use, sort of like breeding in pokemon. This way you can really "create" your own weapons but you still have to make decisions about what guns you use for fuel and what guns you keep. For instance, I got a Treads Upon Stars but it has Guerrilla Fighter and Who's Next, which are perks that I don't value. I could choose to upgrade a Rare scout rifle into a Legendary by using the TUS, but then my Rare scout would have one of those aformentioned perks, and I would continue playing and grinding to get a scout rifle with better perks; at which point now I have to compare the two rifles and decide if it's worth it to keep infusing the Rare rifle or start using the Legendary. That's what would bring more players back with ROI: More options for guns/ armor to go along with the extra content. Just my two cents on the matter.
