So let me know your opinion. I think that TLW is still way overused and feels like it's the only exotic hand cannon used. What I would like to see it the Thorn, Hawkmoon and the other exotic hand cannons become more viable in the crucible. I recently used thorn and it is absolutely trash and the Hawkmoon only seems to get the kills it needs when it's ability procs.i understand the nerf for thorn and hand cannons in general but I need more variety, I would like to see all exotic hand cannons be viable and buffed so to speak to the killing potential of TLW. honestly all exotic weapons should out class ledgendary weapons it's ridiculous that they don't I really hope bungie can do something about it.

2 RepliesI really want TLW to be left behind with the new DLC. It's borderline op and so overused. With the SBMM, it feels like everyone uses it.

Edited by Mango: 8/1/2016 6:05:18 PMIf you say the thorn is trash, you're trash. No offense or anything. How can a gun of a last word archetype deal more damage and close to a fate bringer archetype's damage have a extreme fire rate. How could it's base stats be so stupendous with its burn in sync, an high damage. On a side note. The weapons burn could've worked out, only if it's damage was toned down, but you know bungie, making the wrong decisions an won't admit to what could've been better a one. The thorn still ISN'T balance and will never be balance as long as its damage remains the way it is. The hawkmoon is great when played within its range. But honestly because the stability got nipped by just a small fragment, the recoil is a little to much for it to handle. It still kills fine, an especially when you're in range, but to go against its companion "Esalyuna" it's not where near better. The Last Word is still viable and great. There's nerf posts are still showing up, I'm still getting hate mail using it from time to time. The Last Word is still just as feared as The Thorn is.

9 RepliesExotics aren't supposed to be better than legendaries. They're supposed to be unique.
-
17 RepliesI don't care what they do but TLW needs nerfing baaaad. had a guy kill me first yesterday with a TLW when I was using a heavy machine gun. We started firing at almost exactly the same time and I died and he didn't. I think it's time to rethink that stupid gun. You don't even have to aim to use it, it's just ridiculous. I'd much rather be playing against 6 thorns than one last word.
-
1 ReplyThe Last Word is the only handcannon I ever see in the Crucible. It's basically a miniature heavy machine gun that goes in the primary slot.
-
6 RepliesIf exotics outclassed all legendary weapons every time, it would not be so much fun...
-
2 RepliesWell its a reason why TLW is the only real valuable HC competitive players use. It's has the fastest and most effective killing potential of all HCs. I also would like to see a buff to other HCs, but I'm afraid bungie will only answer by giving TLW another nerf, possibly increasing the damage drop off even further.
-
3 RepliesFirst, why were you using a Year one weapon? That's your fault. Second, the Hawkmoon's range and stability are where it shines. It's the sweet-spot of the high firing 3 shot, but can still be a 2 shot if the perk activates, which it *usually does *Not guaranteed The range on the Last Word is its downfall, making it outclassed by the Hawkmoon in medium ranges. Also, no love for the Ace of Spades or The First Curse (but it deserves none)

I think each exotic handcannon has its owner. For example, people say TLW is stillr eally good, but for some reason i cant hit shit with it. But then yesterday, just for shits and giggles, i went into crucible with Thorn and by the end of the game, i had 20 kills and a 1.82 kd. And hawkmoon is ok. I havent used it in a little while, but last time i did, it just kinda felt like a cool looking ok handcannon. But yeah, i think each exotic handcannon suits different players differently.

18 RepliesI use thorn every game I go into. Haven't played in a while but I want it back! Its a high rate of fire so you can't rely or wait on the burn anymore though it's all about spamming the trigger and using it as the high rate of fire archetype. It's basically a regular handcannon but with a great feel, great look, amd amazing lore! I say bring thorn back, and buff Hawkmoon!
-
6 Replies"Exotic" has to do with rarity... Not performance.
-
Thorn with aggr ball is one to the head and 2 to the body with the fastest RoF HC archetype. Not sure what you mean.
-
I really hope they bring thorn forward for roi. It's one of my favorite exotics in the game. Tlw is still a beast gun in crucible I've noticed ads helps a lot with accuracy Hawkmoon is also one of my favorite guns but it got another nerf when they buffed handcannons.
-
67 RepliesI think TLW needs to be nerfd more than anything. Idc about the damage as much as I do the fire rate and range; it shoots way too fast if you consider the damage it produces. Plus there's no fallout when shooting someone from a mid range distance which is ridiculous for a hand cannon.
-
1 ReplyTLW is too potent at the moment. It definitely needs adjustments. But I will say, Thorn and Hawkmoon are both really good. If your accuracy is good, they both tear. Thorn has one of the lowest kill times of all Primary weapons. The other Primary weapon archetypes are forgiving which makes them more appealing. #Hawkmoonissexii

4 RepliesI RARELY see a handcannon. They are weak and unreliable.

6 RepliesEdited by GHOSTFACE: 7/26/2016 11:28:39 PMTLW needs another nerf again. Its fan fire perk basically does it's job too well and that's why players take advantage of it. Its time to kill is very fast for a primary weapon and many weapons cannot outgun it at all. What Bungie needs to do is either leave it behind like they did with Thorn or nerf its damage to compensate for its Fanfire perk. Every player's loadout is, TLW and a sniper. Tag with a sniper and finish up with the spamming of the trigger. It deserves another nerf. Most players will turn a blind eye but facts is facts. It kills too fast. My counter to TLW was my Doctrine of Passing and ever since the nerf, It won't put up the fight against it no more. Im not involuntarily asking for a nerf, Im asking for balance. There are no other primary weapons that can rival TLW right now.

3 RepliesEdited by TheTinMan209: 7/26/2016 7:12:13 AMTLW is OP needs Nerfed. Way over used too. 11.5% usage in trials this week.
-
Meh, doesn't make a difference to me, scout rifles are where it's at. If you check my pvp loadout on my hunter, I consistently run 2.0 kd games with that setup, and I sometimes switch to the long far gone, instead of the conspiracy theory d too. I love killing people that use meta weapons with this loadout!

2 RepliesYeeeeahh a thorn user. Nice bro
-
5 RepliesScrew the thorn dude, it was the reason all hcs got nerfed into oblivion. I dobt want that cancer in pvp ever again. Keep it in pve with increased burn damage that spreads to targets that are close to eacother.
-
2 RepliesThorn was the counter to tlw, it's fine so tlw is left unchecked, just bring it back, I think it would compete with grasp of Malik and those guns fairly.
-
1 ReplyHawkmoon is a complete gamble. Some days it works beautifully, and I can reliably 3 bang people...days like today however have been plagued by phantom bullets...which is disappointing, as there is no place for this weapon outside of the crucible. I would like to see an exotic hand cannon that was built to be a PvE beast...maybe something that has a decent range and sizeable magazine, with a perk that increases precision damage with successive precision hits.
-
Hawkmoon: It's alright. Thorn: Still waiting... Last Word: Pathetic in PvE.
-
Thorn is not trash. That is all
