I don't think it exists anymore. Local "rock" station is playing Coldplay and counting crows. I'm not even asking for hard rock or metal, just something
not hating on those bands, but that is not rock
Fall Out Boy is somewhat drifting toward rock, Imagine Dragons I'd consider rock, Linkin Park (haters gonna hatehatehatehate), just to name some well known ones

Stop listening to the radio and find music through other means.
-
I really like Heartist, but I doubt many people do on these forums.

1 ReplyIf you're listening to the radio and expect to find good music, you're doing it wrong. Pull up a spoify playlist or something.

Edited by YB NeverWipeAgain: 7/16/2016 4:22:00 PMThe only rock bands I listen to is Metallica and iron maiden
-
Down in my area we have an amazing rock station.
-
Listen to a band called six gallery
-
I listen to a couple radio stations, one plays classic rock 24/7 and the other plays rock from all eras, but for the most part they stick to newer content.

People developed shitty taste. Only explanation for the popularity of rap and all other bullshit mainstream music.

Edited by Fourteen 88: 7/16/2016 3:41:52 PMToo much electronically produced garbage these days ruining the industry. But we'll always have the classics from the 60s and 70s which will remain timeless

1 ReplyYou should check out this band called Red. And that is true,I don't like this generation of music.
-
Just look harder. I'd give recommendations but I have no idea what your taste is.
-
It very much is still around its just hip hop is the current mainstream genre just as it was punk in the 70s for example, so rock has been pushed under except for those of us who already enjoy it.

I live in Scotland an I get a radio station Called Planet Rock. There's Rush, Boston, Van Halen, AC/DC and loads of other great bands and musicians. Most Rock has been buried under an endless flow of repetitive crap from modern 'musicians'

1 ReplyEdited by raj: 7/14/2016 10:43:01 AMAbsolutely nothing, theres plenty of good music out there, so much in fact you literally could not listen to it all in one life time. Youre just looking for it in the worst possible place imaginable. The radio? C'mon now man, learn to use Spotify and expand your horizons. I remember when i had to download random limewires and torrents to find new music lol youre lucky with the tools you have now.

1 ReplyIt's just not as mainstream as the shit Coldplay is saying an playing.
-
It is alt rock. Looking for fuel or 311?

5 Repliesit hit rock bottom..
???? HHAH
1 ReplySame thing that happened to country. It's all become pop music.

Who's your TV provider? (DirecTV, Comcast, etc) See if you get the Music Choice channels, I believe most offer that even at basic packages. They have a "Rock" channel that isn't bad. Also, Pandora or Spotify are handy. I've discovered a majority of the bands I like now through those outlets. To be honest, depending on where you live, radio is probably the least effective place to find music in that genre.
Hell, even when I lived in the NYC area, one of the largest media markets in the country, there was only 1 classic rock and 1 alternative station.
Dont let your local radio dj discourage you from rock music. There is plenty to like, just discover new songs yourself.
