Bungie punishes the PvE players again.
Whilst I do love a bit of Iron Banner basically I'm a PvE kinda guy.
I admire the skill of some of the PvP players enormously, especially the streams I've watched of some the Trials players.
I've really enjoyed Destiny & I am a confirmed Desticle!
But I have been baffled by Bungies insistance in continually trying to force PvE players to play in the Crucible.
I despaired then when I saw the Mountain Top Quest appear in the MoT scorecard.
No Triumph for me then.
And no...
I don't wanna get good either.
Edit 1: At no point do I say anything about hating the Crucible. I just find it a bit boring & not essential to the game.
Edit 2: lots of people asking why I would buy a game & then not play half of it?
Lol... Crucible is 1% of the game.
Edit 3: Keep being told to "stop whining kid"... probably by some 400 pound overpriviliged 24 year old with no job living in his mom's basement.

Oh ya so much punishment for making one of the requirements PvP wahhhh you do realize this game has pve AND pvp so it makes sense to have some pvp on there holy shit people cry about everything

if you do everything but the mountaintop quest you still gonna get 2 shaders and 1 emblem. the emblems arent that great anyways so... yeah.

Trust me, I avoided the quest like it was the plague, but it's not that hard and only takes a week or two to get done.

I'm no Crucible master by any stretch of the imagination and I surprised myself in getting through that whole quest line fairly quickly. You might surprise yourself too.

You don't have to be awesome to get it. I'm almost done just playing various modes. I'm only around 1.0 but it's not awful.

It's really not that tough. When it was originally rolled out, it was real tough. Bungie has rolled back the intensity quite a bit. 99% of it can be completed by participation only. There are a handful of Crucible quests. The ones that are specific to subclass abilities are NOT at all tied to the Crucible quest for the MoT. There's also another Crucible quest (Impress Lord Shaxx, I think), that pops up at some point, and has the same Quest Icon, but I don't believe is required to start and finish the Mountaintop quest. I am not a PvP guy AT ALL, but this quest is extremely doable, if you have patience. The patience is required because the quest line is damn near never-ending. It's just step after step after step. The only difficult part is when you get the weapon portion of the quest, and you have to get so many games with 6 or more kills with that primary weapon (auto rifle, then pulse, then cannon, then scout rifle, I believe). That's the only part that requires any sort of skill to make progress (and it's not that bad). The rest only requires participation to make progress. They updated/nerfed this questline early on, because if you were like me, the questline was fairly punishing (long story short).

It's called moment's of triumph for a reason. Pvp is a huge part of the game whether you like it or not.you still have 2 month's so stop bitching and start playing.

Moments of triumphs are for destiny as a full game not just it's pve destiny wasn't created to be a two sided game.

Edit: and I think it's a bit of an exaggeration to say they're [i]punishing[/i] pve players when 7 out of the 8 triumphs are pve related. Having 1 pvp triumph isn't "punishing" you.

I feel you on this one. I like to bounce back and forth between PVP and PVE. But I think you're right. BUNGIE definitely underappreciates the PVE strikes. The PoE however seems to have gotten a much needed revamping. I'm interested to see if BUNGIE steps up and improves the Strikes in the new update.

Tough. I personally would've put Flawless Passage in Trials in there instead, but then I guess it'd be too difficault for most. At the end of the day, theres PvP and PvE in this game, only fair that both make an apperance in MoT. Besides, its an emblem and a shader.
