Whilst I do love a bit of Iron Banner basically I'm a PvE kinda guy.
I admire the skill of some of the PvP players enormously, especially the streams I've watched of some the Trials players.
I've really enjoyed Destiny & I am a confirmed Desticle!
But I have been baffled by Bungies insistance in continually trying to force PvE players to play in the Crucible.
I despaired then when I saw the Mountain Top Quest appear in the MoT scorecard.
No Triumph for me then.
And no...
I don't wanna get good either.
Edit 1: At no point do I say anything about hating the Crucible. I just find it a bit boring & not essential to the game.
Edit 2: lots of people asking why I would buy a game & then not play half of it?
Lol... Crucible is 1% of the game.
Edit 3: Keep being told to "stop whining kid"... probably by some 400 pound overpriviliged 24 year old with no job living in his mom's basement.
I'm 46 and work in the city & have a family too.

How are they punishing you? Don't you think you're exaggerating just a little bit?
-
You'll be fine man, it's not difficult at all.
-
Who cares? This year's reward is the glorious allowance of you to give even more money to Bungie in exchange for a t-shirt.
-
I hate crucible. I am definitely a PvE player,100% through. But I didn't find any trouble with the crucible questline. Just requires you to put time into it.
-
On the flip side they also punished the pvp players according to your logic.
-
What right do you have to complain about one part of the MoT when you haven't even finished all the other parts? Why don't you actually complete everything else before whining about 12.5% of the requirements.
-
I'll run with you if you need someone to help you get it. It's really not that bad it's just kills with certain kinds of weapons, I think 4 matches with 6 or more Hand Cannon, AR, Scout, and Pulse rifle kills, then just complete matches in every format and you're gravy.

Edited by tanis38: 7/7/2016 9:17:48 PMBungie cannot win. Nobody will be happy unless they have moments of Triumphs for every type of player out there. PvE MoT PvP MoT But wait, what about solo players who refuse to play with others? Solo MoT No, not so fast. There are solo PvE and PvP players. Solo PvE MoT Solo PvP MoT Some players have families, jobs, school and responsibilities and cannot devote as much time to the game. We need to cater to them as well. I-Have-a-Life PvE MoT I-Have-a-Life PvP MoT C'mon guys. It's not a big deal. It highlights some "big" accomplishments that were available in Year 2. You do not need to get them all. It shows what you accomplished. If you didn't do the Crucible quest because you don't like Crucible, well there you go. You are missing ONE thing you decided not to do. You'll live without that one shader or emblem you would have gotten. They even gave us tiered rewards so that you don't have to do everything this time around and still get rewards for what you did accomplish.
-
Just go do it and stop complaining
-
Mountain Top is nothing compared to the Y1 Moment of Triumph, which was "win 100 crucible matches."
-
I dont get why people like you think this is a strictly PvE game. If i recall correctly the game launched with both PvE and PvP out of the box. So why wouldn't there be a part of the triumphs that includes crucible? Furthermore its easy questline. Just be glad they didn't make it so you had to have gone flawless in trials. So if this one moment of triumph is too much for you, or too daunting, don't do it. If thats the only one that you cant do then you can at least get the two shaders and one emblem. Im not gonna tell you to stop crying because frankly i dont care. Cry your heart out. In the end it wont make a difference. I'll just be sitting over here with my two shaders and emblems while you weep.
-
It's not that bad though. It's more time consuming than last year's Crucible requirement but you don't even have to win. Getting the spark to the rift will be the challenge for me on my Warlock but oh well. It could be worse.

Edited by BIG L 56: 7/7/2016 10:46:32 PMI avoid pvp in destiny like the plague but to call it punishment isn't accurate. I'm sure there are just as many people out there who feel the same way about doing a raid as I do about pvp. I get that this was designed to be a social mmo type game but pvp is considered social too. I simply won't get my y2 moments of triumph and I'm ok with it. Saves me from having to get 2 calcifieds that are useless to me and finishing the exotic sword quest. I hate swords lol so I never cared to do it and now I don't have to Edited for spelling
-
What purpose does getting an exotic sword have? The PvP part is easy but the part where you have to collect materials is stupid. It's honestly the worst. Also I have 50 fragments but all on different characters and I can't be bothered to try again.
-
Edited by TheTommieC: 7/7/2016 11:26:04 PMI'm okay with the PVP side of moments of triumph. I'm just thankful it wasn't going to the lighthouse. I cri evry tim.
-
Year 1 had win 100 crucible matches... Mountaintop was a lot easier...
-
Wahhhhh
need your binki?
-
Edited by UseTheFrontDoor: 7/7/2016 11:21:36 PMThe quest line really isn't that bad. It's tedious but doable. I just chipped away at bits over a few days.
-
Then dont get it but why post on here? Its an achievement for completing all aspects of the game. If you dont want to do a task that they made way easier to do since november then you dont deserve the achievement! Or wait you think you should get a participation ribbon. Entitlement is ruining this world!

2 RepliesEdited by DatSaintsBoy: 7/7/2016 11:13:25 PMI am a PvE player, and I have no problem with mountain top. To be honest, it's kind of unfair to the PvP players that the raid is a requirement and flawless isn't.
-
Same can go for pvp people, they can be mad that bungie is "pushing" them to play pve. Both crucible and pve are apart of the game. Moments of triumph should be evenly pvp and pve
-
One out of the eight moments of triumph are pvp based. That's pretty decent considering its a big portion of the game. Punishing would be half of them pvp...
-
Its just putting time in. The quest is easy. If your not good then it might take a tad longer.
-
The only part of the Mountain top quest that is hard is the elimination segment. Mostly because it's filled with tbaggers.
-
You have to be doing all activities to get it. It's not a raid triumph.
-
PvP players aren't happy about the fragments or raid.... We feel you.
