So my 11 year old son just had some scumbag loser hacker get into his xbox one and delete his level 40 characters - is there any type of roll back or anything at all bungie can do?
He's devastated after putting in so many hours into his character just to have some scumbag punk destroy it for him.
Please help!

4 Replies"Xbox one" Found your problem.

3 RepliesWhy would they take down my post if we posted the hackers name? What about obtaining a new spark to at least get him to level 25 again?
-
That's what he gets for being stupid enough to share his account details. No sympathy for stupidity

Edited by Nike: 6/20/2016 11:30:28 PMSocial Engineering =\= Hackers But this is unfortunate, hopefully this teaches him a valuable lesson about account safety. Don't share passwords and always use (2FA) when possible. ~TheGreatNike

If Bungie wouldn't help CuckooKnightHD, they sure as hell ain't helping you. Tell your son about the risks of talking to strangers online and learn from this incident.

1 ReplyThe hacker saved your son from continuing an addiction that is detrimental to their health.

This should help

Prevention is always better than cure.

Look OPs replies. What a great guy. Teach your son the value of keeping your personal information private. As everyone else has already said it's a T rated game so I wouldn't labour the point of his age too much.
-
22 RepliesYour child shouldn't be playing a T-rated game. Muted.

Accounts are generally secure and I don't see why a hacker would attack him just to delete his accounts. Has he been raiding or playing with strangers? Because with this community's intolerance of children (as demonstrated by the response to your post,) it is possible they conned him into giving them his details, just to go on his account and ensure he doesn't play again by deleting everything. Anyway odds are that he gave his information to someone who did it. You need to make sure to secure his account and to educate him on keeping it secure. As for the people trying to say he shouldn't play the game... You honestly wouldn't care about a child playing a teen game normally. But on Destiny you might have to play with them, so you want them gone. In the free world, children can play as they please with parent permission. Hell, I've seen young kids get GTA V.
-
The solution is to tell your kid that you hope he learned his lesson about giving account info over the internet. (should have already been taught that) And perhaps add more parental controls for his account. That what its there for.
-
It's extremely unlikely you were hacked. He probably gave his account info to someone.
-
The only way someone can delete your sons characters and that's if he gave his account details to someone or he game shared with someone unfortunately nothing bungie can do about it.
-
1 ReplyTell him to add me and ill gladly spend.a good.few hours running story missions with him at break neck speed.
-
All the people saying his son shouldn't be playing...I bet all of you waited until you were 12 years old to play ratchet&clank ;)
-
14 RepliesYour 11 year old kid shouldn't be playing anyway. Not saying he deserved his account to be hacked, but again he shouldn't be playing a T rated game anyway.
P.S. Bungie doesn't give anything back to players who have lost items or their characters.
38 RepliesA snap!! I thought Microsoft was the "safer" choice. I could have sworn I've seen a million posts on here saying how much better Microsoft is than Sony with hacked accounts and such. Hmmm guess they were wrong.
-
Let him play cars or spyro the dragon.....this is a T rated game right? But yeah to bad those scum hackers got in his account
-
1 ReplyWow, some community we have here eh? Everyone seems to be throwing insults instead of answering the question politely. The answer OP, is no. Bungie has no way of account retrieval, or any similar service. Have a nice day.
-
2 RepliesI'd find out who it is and then hire someone to kick the shit out of him.
-
To all these people complaining about his age, a 16 in videogame terms translates to roughly a 12A in film terms, his father knows he plays it. Nuff said.
-
My kids don't even have access to their own account info. I keep all of that to myself until I believe they've reached an age where they can be responsible enough to have it. Its unfortunate and irreversible. Take extra precaution when securing your child's account and keep the info to yourself until you feel confident enough to pass it along to them. I'm sorry that happened.

Are you sure you aren't his mom? Cause it sounds like you have a vagina
-
Your son had to give out his login information to someone at some point. It is unfortunate, but Bungie isn't going to help. They are busy figuring out how to nerf Grasp of Malok.
-
Sorry for his loss, but, he learned a valuable lesson today.
