Bungie isn't dropping old gen users, they're just not including them in the newer gaming experience. Example: This is kind of like how a Madden 2014 game would be available on ps3/xb360 & ps4/xb1, but Madden 2015 will only be on ps4/xb1. You can still play Madden 2014 on the older gen system. Old gen systems can still operate with all destiny content up to The Taken King. Rise of Iron and all newer content will likely need the new gen systems. I fully expect future iterations of destiny content will find the ps4/xb1 tech obsolete eventually. It's the same reason why I don't expect companies to continue developing games for my SNES or my SEGA Genisis
