Sorry I have to say this, but great job on Bungies part for moving away from legacy consoles or 'last gen'
This is great news for the game coming into Year 3!
In doing this, Bungie has free'd themselves from last gen hardware and is able to deliver great content going into Year 3.
This means more, wait for it 'Vault Space' Possible custom matches etc, character recreation, amazing polished graphics, possible weather patterns in pve and pvp, being able to add live events with a breeze and being able to add in content dlc or content for Year 3 without last gen holding us back.
Year 3 is shaping up to be an awesome year.
Again sorry last gen but it had to be done.
I own a PS4 since year 1 so I'm good.

Did we not know this was gonna happen eventually? I started destiny on 360 but bought a xboxone when there was a deal ( Forza bundle) because I knew this was going to happen. It truly is a shitty deal but as with all electronics you will have to upgrade eventually. I'm not saying this to piss anyone off I remember how I felt when I pre ordered MKX for 360 then towards the release GameStop said they had to refund my money because its only next gen now...

If you guys can't save up for a new console over 3 years, then gaming is the least of your problems. 25 cent a day would have already bought you a new console. And a dollar would have bought you 3. Stop bitching about buying a new console and try to improve your life first.

5 RepliesThis obviously has a pro AND con: The pro here is that Destiny will begin to reach its full potential. It will no longer be held back by last gen consoles, and can now take full advantage of current gen. The con, obviously, is that PS3 and Xbox 360 players are going to be left behind if they don't upgrade. So, Destiny is finally free from Xbox 360 and PS3 limits, but at the cost of their supporters who can't upgrade.... Welp.

The move is a great thing because it will allow them to improve the game. They will be able to push the limits of the new consoles and not be held back by relics from a golden age. This is what happens with all technology. I think it is classless for people to rub this in the face of people who can't afford current gen. It's a move that needed to happen but doesn't need to be something to make fun of others for.

I'm last gen so I'm a little disappointed but I understand it needed to happen eventually. Maybe is Scorpio comes out, Xbone will drop to $250. I can trade in the 3DS and games I never use to gamester for $6

12 RepliesI am on PS4 btw. But I think that this is just a ploy from Bungie to sell more PS4s and Xbox 1s. They have the tools to make it on all 4 consoles. I think this is just pure laziness on their part. The game engine is capable for supporting all the consoles. Yes I am sure there had to be tweaks done. But this is all a marketing ploy. Don't fall for it. Buying a console just to play a short expansion is not worth it. If you plan on keeping the console to play games in future, then go ahead and buy it.

I really do think that the limitations of the last gen consoles have held back destiny in some ways with its very noticeable limitations so now that Bungie doesn't have to make the last gen and next ten equal with content so now the next gen consoles can really make the most of everything that the PS4 and Xbox one can offer to us. Plus if destiny players on the Xbox 360 and PS3 really want to continue to destiny adventure then they'll upgrade to next gen increasing sales for Sony and Microsoft Win win
