So I've been restricted from crucible for two weeks for unstable Internet. I know restrictions can't be lifted. I've been playing this game since a few months after The Dark Below came out and I've never been restricted. I do understand that I lag some but it doesn't give me an advantage one bit. I've played some Classic Free For All with my friend and got his opinion on my lag. What happens is when I shoot him with a headshot sniper he doesn't die till like 1-2 seconds later (this is on my screen). On his screen, he shoots me in the head and says the same thing happens on his screen. It seems to be pretty fair. Also when I'm out of cover then go back in cover on the enemy's screen I'm still out of cover for a few seconds after I went behind cover. I know that Bungie is trying to get rid of laggers but it really sucks being a lagger and not being able to fix it (I tried the network shooting guide but it didn't fix anything) I just want to be able to play the game I love. (Also I have the best internet we can get for where I live) I really love Destiny and Bungie and it'd be great if I could play Crucible without having to worry.

6 RepliesJust to give you a head up, restrictions and bans are two different things. Restrictions are temporary while bans are permanent. Check the link above for more details. As for your connection, I recommend using an ethernet cable if you aren't already. It can help a lot with most networking setups that experience lag. Otherwise, try making sure as few devices are on your network as possible when you're playing.

1 ReplyHello! As others have mentioned, Bungie does not dispute/discuss bans or restrictions. Please refer to the link for this quoted statement:
As well, Bungie may issue restrictions or bans to accounts that have consistent unstable connections when playing Destiny, as this negatively impacts other players.
4 RepliesWith your note of satellite internet, that is your culprit right there. Understand, Bungie has stated with Destiny that it requires a PREMIUM internet connection with low latency. Satellite internet is NOT that. And i know you state you are not give you an advantage but here's the deal, you wouldn't know it. It would look completely normal on your screen while on the opposing players side, they would be frantically shooting you or watching you glitch all over the screen. It honestly does not matter if you cannot fix it, you are ruining the game for other players point blank. This game is a P2P network architecture and one person with a poor connection can ruin it for an entire lobby of players. I'm sorry Guardian, the best you can do is configure your side the best (being wired - do not use wireless with your console, make sure that your router and modem are set up properly with proper port forwarding etc., and then just do your best). But understand, poor connection will get you reported and eventually restricted as you have seen.
