Shut up, this is a job and we're working 7 days a week with no lunch break. If we don't show up 10 minutes early we're fired. We've got three kids and twins on the way. This is serious stuff here. No time for smiling.

Self-esteem issues and ego won't let them believe they aren't skilled, it's always an overpowered weapon that beat them. Not the other player, because then they'd have to admit they lost and they can't have that. Note, I count myself among the gamer geeks, having played them for over 30 years and proud of it. But I really do think people forget that there's fun in playing the game and not just winning. Or collecting gear to brag about. I blame it on the fact that most gamers seem to be stuck in a fixed mindset instead of a growth mindset. Basically, many believe that either they're skilled or they aren't. Losing just reinforces that belief and upsets them and they give up easily, where a person with a growth mindset would take advantage of those losses to learn and get better, believing that people can surpass their limits if the try. I admit, I've been in the former most of my life, but I'm always trying to become the latter. But what it comes down to in the end is that many people feel losing makes them a lesser person, when it doesn't, because it's just a game.

Fun is a point of perspective. Maybe I have less fun when punk ass trials team is going triple Viking funeral firebolts.

Edited by Muninn: 5/17/2016 10:32:19 PMI've had the most fun I've ever played playing Destiny, since the update and just before. The last two Iron Banners have been great for me. Yes I've lost about 80% of my matches but I'm still having fun. The update is really a winner IMO, the leveling system is finally good, there's a ton of ways to increase your light. This is key for me, as I despise grinding the raids, they're just not fun to me. The Challenge of the Elders is a winner IMO, I look forward to it each week, I hope they expand on it. I do think they need to fix the matchmaking search logic, I'm an average skill player, literally, and it really sucks I get murdered every game. Also, they need to randomize the loot drops in factions and Shaax, I can't remember the last time I got a weapon. I also would love a Destiny lore playlist, I don't know what exactly would be in it but the lore is great if you read it. I want more investigative missions and/or strikes. I think they're finally moving in the right direction, I just hope they release more content, a lot of it, and very, very soon.

1 ReplyI enjoy this game. I think things are more balanced than ever, no need for nerfs. Maybe some things can be changed to make things more fast paced? Too easy to wait out the time in Trials games and such. Other than that. It's all good.[spoiler]It's was fast paced in the Thorn, TLW, and shotgun meta. I don't see why it can't be now[/spoiler]

1 ReplyDon't you know that fun is for plebs and people that don't know how to play pvp? ;) The only fun people are allowed to have is the fun you get from baithing in the tears of your enemies when you go 5.0 in a pvp match.

1 ReplyTotally agree. Enjoy playing, or play something else. It's supposed to be fun, an escape from reality if you will. I'm not a great player, I'm terrible at PvP. But, when I play Destiny I have fun.
