Choose your starter! Sun and Moon
I'm just curios if anybody else will be getting Pokemon sun and/or moon. And what your starter will be. I will be choosing popplio, always started with water starters and I think he is underestimated. Discuss your reasoning, opinions excitement and best Pokemon stories, if you'd like.

9 RepliesI'll see what the final evolutions look like first, but it's looking like for once I'll choose the fire type. Water type starters have generally always been reliable and I almost always pick them, but I do have a limit to how retarded I want my Pokemon to look and until I'm sure the seal isn't gonna dial the circus clown nose up to 11 I'm holding back. As for the owl, yes it looks cool. It's also Grass/Flying, which is a 4x weakness to ice and while some more orthodox anti-Flying types, like electric, will be ineffective it has a LOT of potential weaknesses.

That being said, I'm gonna force my brother to give me whichever one I don't choose out of the remaining two. I haven't played a Pokemon game since Black and White, but I always pick the fire one because the first dojo is usualy weak to fire.

6 RepliesRowlet is my choice because i always choose the Grass starter. (Also my favorite type) If we go by it's pokedex entry (speculation of course) it seems that it could end up being a good physical sweeper with a great HP stat. Give it Thick fat or Gale wings and it will be more effective in competitive if it's stats are good at final evo. Sure getting an x4 weakness to Ice is really bad but Sky forme Shaymin is a strong Grass type for competitive (sure it's a legendary of course it will be strong but Torterra also has a x4 weakness to Ice and it holds up really well in conpetitive matches.) As long as it doesn't end up as a bulky attacker it could be a great pokemon. Having a moveset with both Brave bird and Leaf storm could be great, it could have a STAB boost too i guess.
