Since that was normal, do it on hard. And don't glitch the abyss with a sword. A speed run needs to be legit before you don't get laughed at by the community for glitching it.
Edit: it's really funny the amount of people that are bent out of shape because of my post. It was normal mode, who cares? Oh wait, all the kids that have responded to this post with their panties in a wad. I've beat hm in 11 min and change. People have done it faster. Good for them. I did it in year one. The op did it year two, with year two weapons. Not impressed. Personally I'm more impressed with the solo oryx hm kill in less than 15 minutes. That guy deserves props. Not the kid that beat crota on NORMAL.

Do you even know what a speedrun is? This isn't some new Destiny invention. The original Super Mario Brothers speed runs relied on a glitch, how are you going to suggest that this shouldn't?

Of course I read the response and the subsequent grammar tangents. It was mostly inoffensive and thoughtfully written. However, it misses the point of a speedrun in a context larger than, "hard mode or it didn't happen, bro!" And, let's all face it, that is incredibly narrow minded.

I think it should be clarified that there are different types of speedruns, i.e. using year 1 weapons + armor vs. Year 2 or glitching vs. Non-glitching etc.

While I completely understand the concept of a speed run, and have done them myself; what is the big deal of someone doing it for something that has been out for over a year? Apparently more people care about some kid using a sword to go through the abyss in a year old raid than when a blind kid beat crota in year one. The fact that Cozmo gave him runner up in the weekly update, just goes to show how entitled the younger generation is, and how much they crave attention for things that others have done that were more difficult.

It was on normal. Who the fuk cares? Hell, a blind kid beat it on hard. And it was on normal using a sword. He had twilight garrison equipped, and he just used a sword. I'd be more impressed if he did it using year one shit. Using items that weren't available in year one people beat hard mode in less than 10 minutes. Besides I enjoy pissing off kids on this forum.
