So I thought last week's challenge was bad (until I discovered how insane Voidwalker was in it) but this takes the cake:
Exposure, TRICKLE, and Melee Kill Bonus.
Um.... wtf? This is a troll right? You want us to punch stuff to death without brawler (and swords don't count as melee because reasons) while also having our abilities recharge super slow even on tier-5 AND our shields don't regenerate.
This is some BS. Definitely not soloing CoE this week and even in a group this just will not be fun at all.

2 RepliesHaha, did the challenge card in two runs. High score of 51k+ Stormtrance with amplitude? Getting hit by melee fully recharged and intensifies thunder strike. Melee chains lighting to nearby enemies.
-
The only annoying bit is the first boss Keksis with the blight bombs that suppress your melee and grenades... just take him out as quickly as you can. Ignore the score in the round coz you'll make it up in the next two rounds easily

3 RepliesThe first week that Challenge Of Elders actually becomes a little bit challenging, people complain. Now isn't that ironic, don't you think. A little too ironic, yeah I really do think.
-
Ummmmm... Peregrine Greaves?!?!

2 RepliesEdited by MGB: 4/27/2016 11:08:06 PMSolo'd it, and it was the most fun I've had since Skolas. I didn't kill that many with melee in the first round, but killed most with melee in the second and third rounds. I only died once, and it was self inflicted (attached grenade on a rushing enemy). Normally I only solo content after I have gone through with my team, but I couldn't wait until Sunday after seeing the modifiers so I jumped right in. Loved it. Can't wait to go in with my team. This is what I expected from Challenge of Elders. I can't wait until there is an elemental burn modifier in there to make it harder.

Edited by TrulyDontCare: 4/27/2016 11:31:52 PMI thought it looked hard, but it turned out to be easy. I ran it once and not even the whole thing. I joined the fireteam when they were in the middle of the second round and I still exceeded the high score requirement. I just meleed more than usual, but nothing special. Last week was a lot tougher, IMO. Those grenade kills weren't always easy to get and the Cabal section was -blam!-ing brutal. Edit: I was even using Nightstalker with Vanish in Smoke, so I was totally reliant on normal melee kills. This week sounds a lot tougher than it really is.

It wasn't bad at all. Solo might actually be difficult now and that's nice. It's a challenge for solo players for sure. But it's still a cake walk for a semi decent fireteam.

6 RepliesEach class(hunter, Titan, warlock) has a melee applicable subclass. Titan= sunbreaker(use Stoke the forge). Hunter= bladedancer(use fast twitch). Warlock= sunsinger(use flameshield). Using the Monte Carlo(which Xur sold not too long ago) prime the target then run in and punch him dead. Sure everyone will die multiple times but at least dieing doesn't decrease points. Variks only takes off 100 points which is negligible. Another strategy: Double or Triple team as many enemies as you can. (because individual score does not matter.)

Lol it was easy. Hunter and throwing knifes and scabbard

Better than week 2 Meleeing with reckless abandon was surprisingly more fun than I thought it was going to be.

1 ReplyIts a shit storm of hectic running around and regenerating your health by 1 inch to survive. Its actually a proper challenge and I like it. For a Titan I'd recommend Striker with Shoulder Charge and the Greaves. The perk for regenerating your health from Storm Fist or Shoulder charge simply do not work. Not sure if this is a glitch or Exposure. If you have Monte Carlo fine, but its not necessary. Just punch stuff really. :D

1 ReplyJust because the timer goes off saying you lose points..... It's only like 100 every minute. That's only 1 headshot. Take as long as you need until you hit the right amount of points.
-
Dude, this is actually a challenge. Not some easy run thru BS. Stop complaining and actually think of a strat. It's not that hard. What's with people not liking a challenging and wanting to run thru everything? Play and have fun with the challenge man
-
Piece of cake .. Apart from last round, just take the Wizards down fast and it's fine..out door to the right and fight on the platform.. Easy
-
1 ReplyHA, I called it. Everyone was crying on the first week how it's super easy, blah blah blah and now it took ONLY 2 weeks for crybabies to cry. It's not even hard and people already crying.
-
1 ReplySo you're mad because CHALLENGE of Elders this week is more challenging? Interesting... Btw this week CoE is cake
-
But you can take as long as you like, the time limit score decreaser is basically non existent, just melee each wave of adds until the boss is dead and you have sufficient points
-
3 RepliesI found it fun, with my Titan... Almost always had top points, except when playing with another Titan, then we were trying to beat each others score.. I think Warlock will be just as fun and maybe not as much on the Hunter. The final score was less than last week's, with the first round being higher(about 1000-1500 points)

Never had an issue. Hit 34,000+ each time.
-
Its easy.
-
It was easy af.
-

I suck at Destiny, all video games and life in general. that being said, even I found CoE super easy this week. Just run it, you will see.
-
Awfully easy
-
So easy even on my blade dancer Hunter I had over 15,000 every run
