To an extent I agree with you - I know the game has been designed to be addictive. But I also think grinding is part of the charm. Admittedly getting to 320 nearly killed me, taking months of doing raids and whatever else like a job.
But getting to 335 seems trivial. There needs to be a bit of middle ground and players will do whatever it takes to feel a bit of prestige like the special snowflakes we all are.
I admit if you asked me a year or two ago I'd say micro transactions are devil spawn. Sadly it's just the way the whole industry is going. I have played Destiny over 2,000 hours so definitely feel I have got my money's worth and don't mind spending a bit more. I am under no illusion I'm encouraging the practice but I'm just going with the flow of what I want to do. I can afford it and don't see it as a major issue right now.
