Time for PVP players to "Shut up and adapt?"

All around the feedback forums, when I see a PVE player complaining about the ammo nerf for snipers and chainguns, all I see in response from primarily PVP players is: "Shut up and adapt, I did." This post is in response to all of you primarily PVP players posting this. I, and many others will not shut up about this issue. It is primarily because of YOUR failures to shut up and adapt in PVP that has gotten us to this point. Rather than shutting up and adjusting your tactics so you can handle evolving situations more fluidly, you just come on this board crying day and night for "Nerf this, nerf that. TLW too OP, I got sniped, nerf it! WAH!" And Bungie ultimately gives you what you want, but here is the kicker. Because Bungie will not separate PVE from PVP, the nerfs deemed necessary to please YOU whiners carry over into my PVE experience. The result is that my arsenal is filled largely with ineffective spitwad shooters. Only with this latest nerf, they've now limited the amount of spitwads I can carry. PVE players have had enough of the stupid nerfs for PVP purposes which have eroded our PVE arsenal. Rather than join forces with us and focus on trying to force Bungie to fully separate PVP balancing from PVE, you have the audacity to tell us PVE players to "shut up and adapt, I did." I have news for you. Brace yourself for a blow to your inflated ego. No, you didn't shut up and adapt. Your crying about certain weapons that kill you and your failure to adapt has resulted in nerf after nerf after nerf. You sat on these boards complaining about whatever weapon that killed you and cried until it got changed. Now its PVE player's turns to complain until things get changed back to how they should be. So all of you players who are telling PVE players to shut up and adapt, I say to you now: Bite your tongue and say nothing, or join us in our endeavor to have Bungie fully separate PVP weapons balancing from PVE. Because even if your in-game experiences are different than others, your attitude regarding the matter is counter-productive and it is not helping to improve the game. [Edit] Wow guys! I had no Idea this post would get this much attention. I was just venting my frustrations at being told the new equivalent of "git gud scrub" over and over when complaining about the ammo nerf is a legitimate concern amongst PVE players. For those PvP players who also supported this post, thank you for reading the entire post and getting the gist of my post. I know I didn't make it clear, but I wasn't pointing the finger at the ENTIRE PVP community. I thought I was making it pretty clear that my wrath was more directed at those in the PVP community who constantly complain that this weapon or that weapon is OP because it kills them too much. If you are not someone that comes here and complains about nerfs, obviously I was not pointing the finger at you. Likewise, if you are not the kind of player who comes on here and just tells people to "shut up and adapt," I wasn't singling you out either. Lastly, I would just love it if Lord Shaxx would shout "GROW A PAIR!" every time someone is sniped, just for the LOL's.

  • PvP game types such as Temple of Osiris need to be changed. Right now it is really sniper elimination. Special needs to be reduced substantially. Perhaps start with special and maybe 3rd round drop. Would like to see emphasis returning to the primary. No idea why they are nerfing everything else as the only weapon that matters is sniping in temple.

  • Pretty funny since it was the PvP players adapting to the 'no special to start' that led to the ammo nerf in the first place.

We need to wake up and face it, Destiny is truly hurting because of the people that complain in PvP. Remember House of Wolves times? With the Thorn and Last Word and Bad JuJu etc... Those were great times, we all had a specialty favorite weapon that we always used, and everyone had a good standing in the crucible, plus there was Prison of elders and we can redo the old raids thanks to etheric light. now we cant do a damn thing, because all these new juniors that came with The Taken King started SCREAMING about how our game was going, WE LIKED THE WAY IT WAS. these "kids" need to grow some hair on their testicles and learn to shutup, theres a reason why your cartoons suck compared to the ones i watched.

    • We're anecdotal therefore complaints bear no fruit. I understand your point though. What I don't understand is why there are sub-forums devoted to balance and weapon tweaking when hard data trumps empirical evidence. What's the point in having these forums when Bungie never espouses our collectively agreed upon changes; for example, descoping sniper rifles when damaged, sway or the like being overlooked but frame rate blackouts are implemented. Who suggested this solution? Nobody. Who asked for all year one perks to be shells of their former selves? Nobody. What is the point in our feedback towards balance and plausible reparation? There isn't any. Power feedback should be abolished.

    • I primarily do PvP and I agree; I'm tired of my PvE weapons/class/etc. being decimated because of PvP. All I have left is the defender titian and the nightstalker subclasses, across all three, that are of any use to me now (NOTE: have yet to use updated voidwalker) and weapon wise I have swords (thank goodness so few people know how to use these well in PvP), some rockets with limited perks, fusion rifles (they have ammo), sidearms, high range hand cannons for short ranges and scout rifles. Oh and super good advice; it has lost over 60 rounds but not having to reload is useful against ultras. So nice how weapon variety is being crushed in PvE, and how play styles are being reduced to such a small number.

      • Finally. There is someone else on these forums who's not a total idiot. It's ridicules that imbecilic cry-babies screaming for nerfs could have the power to ruin the Destiny experience, but that's what happened. Upvoted.

All the nerfs are because of some PvP players venting on the forums. I've never had a thrall complain about getting one shot. I agree they should separate the two.

            • Kind of sad when my longbow has a base MAX ammo amount of 11 shots, this is fūcking MAX without any armor bonuses, completely ridiculous. This is not only awful for pve, but also awful for pvp. Far to many people must have gotten thier wigs split too many times for something like this to happen. What's even more sad is that snipers have been unaffected by nerfs since day one. A year and seven months untouched, until they become popular then all hell breaks loose.

I think bungie should raise guardians health for pvp so the TTK is on par with what the pvp community wants and that way the PVE community doesn't have their weapons effected. Easy solution that makes both sides happy.

            • You really should adapt to it though. I never complained about anything because i just adapted. I'm still not awfully good but still not awfully bad.

              • Sure. Bungie has their graphs, but people whining about certain weapons is why they nerf them. I haven't seen anything being nerfed without some dumbass whining about it. You mother -blam!-ers piss me off. Stop complaining about every thing and bungie does not nerf based on usage. You -blam!-s complain and get literally EVERYTHING nerfed. Shut up for gods sake.

                • As a PvP main myself, I can totally see where you're coming from. If you mainly do PvE activities, basically every time an update comes about, the weapons you love get a little bit weaker, the classes you use feel not as capable-- it would be frustrating as hell. You're dead on in that Bungie just needs to make a total separation between the two spheres of PvP and PvE. I mean the fact that only three subclasses (Sunsingers, night stalker, defender) are really used in PvE should tell Bungie that there needs to be SOME sort of change. Here's to hoping that Bungo takes notice of this thread and realizes that PvP and PvE don't need to be intertwined so much.

                  • Coming from the beta and vanilla destiny, I never would've thought every weapon would've been nerfed. I used to be able to play pvp for hours at a time... Now I can barely play it for over an hour. It's not really that fun anymore

                  • Nerfs aren't based on forum feedback - from either playerbase. They're based on usage stats. That's it. You need to spend less time whining, and more time actually paying attention to what Bungie are telling you.

                    • Funny this is, all the weapons they nerfed... were Bungies ONLY successful weapons. They are doing exactly the opposite of what they should be doing. What they SHOULD do is bring the crap weapons up to the Pre-Nerf standards of all the weapons they nerfed (and un-nerf the nerfed weapons) , those were the weapons we actually liked. PVP IS WAY MORE FUN WHEN ALL THE WEAPONS ARE LETHAL

                    • Most of the people complaining that a "DPS" is universal or that other issues affecting PvE due to PvP are fairgame are missing on critical point: a lot of the weapon changes often time occurs due to over usage of particular weapons in PvP or the sense that particular playstyles do not contribute to PvP. Changes that have occured due to this approach do create a near universal problem with Bungie and why the hate: the weapon works as intended but they're desire to promote primary over special will eventually reach a melting where PvP hordes don't appear at the same rate as PvE mobs and the issue of a primary running out never is a concern in PvP; it happens in PvE at times. So when the first auto rifle nerfs came, ppl got tired of dying in PvP to them, then they got tired of shotguns and snipers. They got tired of HMG streaks too. I mean these gripes are really gripes that don't have any realm or logic for a nerf other than "well learn a better playstyle in PvP" but these hopes always fall on deaf ears. Bungie will end up reducing PvP at some point where it's all about the primary; the shotgun from the gunsmith as a lvl up reward only has 3 shots in some cases; good enough for a PvP but yea how effective IS THAT in PvE? Yea the PvP crowd will always gripe about this and that and it's the PvE crowd that suffers but it's also representative of a larger, looming issue. In a desire to promote usage of a weapon due to PvP, players loose out on content, bug fixes, hot fixes and the allocation of resources to other areas of the game. This is where I get both frustrated and annoyed; if you want to play a FPS game for PvP, play CoD. If you want to have a mix of everything then accept the tools you get and move along. But nope it doesn't work that way. You can't ever do te "DPS is DPS" or "the game is the same everywhere" argument in order to change anything because PvP content is NOT THE DAMN SAME AS PvE CONTENT! I will burn through more ammo at all level of weapon types and categories and at the end of the day, the number of mobs are higher and I don't have the luxury of going up and meleeing everything to death in sight. Because the overall content is different treating PvP and PvE the same is silly and moronic....

                      • I've never been at all bothered by weapon tuning. I'm a primarily pve player, I don't normally use the weapons that are typically tweaked, and if I do it has never effected my play style. I am okay with the continued weapon tuning across the board. However I am not okay with a blanket ammo adjustment. Do not take away my sniper rounds in the raid just because pvpers are complaining. Do not take away my machine gun rounds because of pvpers. Go ahead and do that in pvp, I don't care, but don't do that for me. And much less do not only add two bullets to my black spindle with an extra reserve ammo perk. That's useless in the raid and my motes of light wound up being useless. And only sixteen extra bullets in my machine gun with the perk? That's not ideal.
