I was going through my PC and found some old screen shots that took me back to Y1 so I thought I'd share them with you guys to bring back some memories and I guess show the Y2 players our struggle back then? heh.

Mod from the future finding this thread. The question you're asking about the emblem is a bungie.net forum ninja emblem for Destiny 1. Also, Hi Butane, you're famous :-)

I remember when the devil walker was the most challenging content in the game. I remember sepiks arc burn. I remember the nexus mind arc burn. I remember phogoth and hanging outside of the arena to snipe him to death. I remember when VoG first came out and people thought they could solo it. I remember the original Queen's Wrath event. I remember when I first blew up on timebreaker. I remember farming planetary materials. Etc etc.... ~ Nyahh! =^,.,^=

6 RepliesI'll put this in a spoiler to save room if you'd like to read it.
Looking back on it, I miss it too. There were so many people I met and so many memories formed. The mystery of the vault. Knowing people had gone inside and fought Atheon. I never had. My ex friend and I always wondered how it was inside, and he said one day he wanted in. Within the next days he gets a group of his friends, asks me to join. I admit I was a little intimated knowing it was the most challenging experience ever made, but I agreed to do it. The sync plates were difficult. After some time we got in, and I was blown away by the scale and beauty of it all. Being with 5 strangers I never knew, but all with that goal in mind of exploring and discovering. I'll never forget the first time defeating the Templar. I had been mostly silent until then, listening to others divising strategies. Nothing we did worked, but I saw an opportunity for a great strike and lead the Templar fight. I looked at everyone's class and weapons, told them where to go, what to use. Four of us on the lower left side of the Templar, and two on the elevated right side. We fought so hard that night. Everyone came together and developed a bond. This bond is what got us through: respecting everyone's ideas and words equally. After some time, the Templar was finished. Everyone just spouted out in cheer and laughter and it was an experience that none of us had ever had in a game. We connected so well, and it's where I met my now ex girlfriend. She and I had very good times together. I know some people judge long distance harshly, but we were happy and it's all that mattered. After the Templar things sort of become a blur, but that's where the rest of Year One starts. Going on little adventures with my new friends, girlfriend. Having fun. I remember always chasing The Nowhere shader while everyone wanted Revenant. House of Wolves dropped. Hunting the Wolves in patrol with some good friends. And then Trials of Osiris. Everyone and their damn Thorn. The first time getting to the Lighthouse. After that people started slowly leaving Destiny. TTK released and some people came back, but after some time we all left. Those old VoG friends all disbanded, moved on. Girlfriend and I broke up. At this point we were all so sick of grinding at the ends of TTK. My close friends all left and hated on it so much, including me. My last fond memory was the Stormcaller mission, which was very relaxed and peaceful during an almost violent time with Destiny. It was over the way it all started. I was alone, and after that memorable zen I was gone too. I just recently came back after several months and remembered all the times I had the first year. I hated Destiny, but coming back and playing it, I'm really enjoying myself. It's sad to see the roster barren with no one on Destiny anymore. It feels like it's just a shadow of its former self and all those stories we've had are supposed to leave with it. Destiny had and still has its problems (although vastly improved), but looking back on it all it gave me some of the best times I've had, especially being an introvert. Ironic because I'm being an open book right now, but I digress. Bonding with others like I had was never a thing until Destiny. It helped me get out of my shell more and appreciate the company of others. I honestly wouldn't be the same as I am today if Destiny had never existed, and that's a very powerful statement.
