The Division lacks what Destiny excels at
In my opinion the division just doesn't cause me to feel that sense of wonder and curiosity that Destiny has. For example, after The Dark Below was released for Destiny, I was absolutely hooked on the Hive and the lore behind them. Nothing in the division does that for me like destiny has. I know they are both set in different worlds but the division has reached the climax of what it can do. The finally boss IS A -blam!-ING HELICOPTER! Destiny's boss is a giant badass alien (referring to Atheon here not the vanilla boss) that you need teamwork to kill. Sorry division you were fun but I'll always find my way back to destiny because of its extensive and interesting lore
Yes I realize the vanilla final boss is the three minotaurs but seriously can those really be considered bosses? I just refer to the raid bosses as the final bosses because they actually deserve the title

The Division needs Zombies or something along those lines, it gets boring, and you can't jump and that pisses me off. I agree with what you say, Destiny just has more lore to it, more to see. Destiny has a story you knuckleheads, it's just getting started, calm down.

1 ReplyI believe the topic you're attempting to define is "genre". Some weirdos like playing with giant dudes in metal suits while running around with a machine gun. Others like playing with a sexy elf vixen with a rapid-fire bow. Literally the same gameplay at most points, but vastly different settings. There is no right or wrong, just different tastes.

First person is better than third person when it comes to shooting games. It's just more immersive and exciting. Destiny wins this one. Weapon and armour customization are better in The Division. The Division has crafting. Destiny doesn't and I wish it did. The maps in The Division are way more intricate and three dimensional than in Destiny. The map of New York in The Division is very well done. New York is one of my favourite cities and the map really pulls me in. The story in The Division is pretty interesting but no where near as big and expansive as the story in Destiny. The story in The Division seems more immediate and urgent, though. The wandering random bad guys in PvE is better done in The Division. The groups seem more random and are more more closely grouped together. Destiny has raids. The Division doesn't (but they may be coming). Destiny has a way bigger variety of PvP maps. The PvP in The Division is basically ganking your fellow players as they wait to evacuate their stuff. Such a drag. I like an honest-to-God, balls to the wall straight up firefight. Plus it's way too easy to accidentally shoot someone when a bunch of people are shooting at a boss or group of bad guys in The Division. Then you go rogue by accident. It's stupid and frustrating. People will jump in front of you on purpose to make you go rogue by accident. Then their buddies kill you and take your stuff. PvP in The Division is just a stupid mechanic. The final boss in Destiny is Oryx. Oryx is the destroyer of worlds and the drinker of souls. Oryx is a millennia old badass with a huge genocidal spacefaring army. The final boss in The Division is a helicopter. WTF?

3 RepliesAnswer me these questions: In Vanilla Destiny, how many minotaurs do you kill during the story missions? In The Division, how many helicopters do you kill during the missions? At least the division did something unique to the game to end the story, not just make a common enemy bigger...

Hoping in the Division being perfect day one was a wishfull and naive thinking. Bugs, glitches, loot cave and not only one, but like 3 (lol) and very unbalanced PVP and drops. Honestly if Destiny had the same PVP matchmaking as during the HoW time (minus the bugged Last Word and Thorn) then I would never touch Division. The min-maxing of gear in The Division is what makes alot of ppl addicted to the game including myself. Its certainly not the gunplay... Bad aim? No problemo amigo! SHOOT ALL DEM BULLETZ! Missed all shots? NO PROBLEMO! SHOOT MORE BULLETZ! Thats the gunplay feeling the division has lol. The community devs in the Division are top notch tho. I dont know to what extend are Deejs and Cozmos hands and mouth tied, but it is crystal clear that the Division community managers have a much more room for talking to people. They are not very open with info aswell, but they have weekly podcasts, state of the game "talkshows", podcasts with content creators and they even stream and play on Twitch. Bungie is trying to do the same now, but I think they are 1.5 years to late with that.

1 Replywhat about vanilla pre atheon cause thats where the division is at not 3 yrs into a life cycle its at vanilla destiny pre atheon. so you can't really compare the 2 fairly in three yrs ill say weather or not division stacked up because as of right now it blows the doors off vanilla destiny. but destiny 3 yrs in no its not as good.

11 RepliesYou compare the campaign boss of division to only the raid bosses in destiny but not final boss of the campaign. So your point is? Those raid bosses were all dlc, division hasn't even had a dlc yet.

You can't compare the stories of the two games. One is set across the galaxy and is super fictitious, there's aliens flying in from everywhere. the other is confined to a city and the villains can only be other humans. Notice the limit in possible creativity?

I like both games personally. Where I'll agree the division dusnt hook you me In the mysterious way Destiny does I still like certain aspects better (I love the concept of upgrading the operations base, weapon mods etc). I think over time these games will learn from each other and adapt. It certainly is nice having 2 games like this to bounce back and forth between to keep content somewhat fresh.
