Why does everyone suck so bad @ Oryx?
I swear I've been trying all mother-loving day long and guardians can't stay alive. If a million bucks was on the line, everyone would still die. Sigh.....

It's been a walk in the park for me. Oryx ain't hard with the right group I think PoE Skolas was the more difficult one before they nerfed him off of elementals

Watch "Oryx Hard mode Challenge. Very Clean Run" on YouTube https://youtu.be/BdXwcute-xA I notice that 99% of failures during the Oryx challenge mode is people dying on the plates. I posted a video of my Oryx challenge mode completion from a few weeks ago. Hopefully seeing how to run it can help some of you guys who have struggled with it. I personally use my Touch of Malice, 1000-Yard Stare, and Elulim's Frenzy rocket launcher. Basic strategy is jump on plate, turn throw a grenade at the Ogre that spawns beside me. Prepare to snipe my Knight cross map, the switch to rocket launcher and quickly kill the adds. Killing the Acolytes will make sure those Acolyte Eyes don't spawn. 6 RepliesI'm a titan who has yet to try or even beat Oryx on HM. I blame myself and my insecurity. Another reason that I come across is that my light level and gear isn't up to the requirements. Right now my titan is at 315 light, but that's when I have my 316 nirwens mercy, 317 1k stare, and my 319 quillums terminus. My titan is 314 light when I use my 310 TOM, and use the same special and heavy. I've watched some videos on YouTube on strategies ppl use on HM Oryx. I don't know what to expect, other than the light eater knights and everything can kill you a little easier. I just wanna get it done and hopefully this week. I need the calcified fragment from the Oryx challenge and I got a chance at getting some better primaries for infusion or just to shoot at whatever in the destiny universe. My PSN is dan_B_S79. I'm usually on in the afternoon eastern standard time. I main my titan, and from what I understand they are in high demand for HM.

Some guardians stink, some are having bad days, some are bored with the game and are just trying new loadouts or strategies. I think the first group may be the largest.

12 RepliesEasiest boss fight in the history of Destiny. All you need is two thumbs, a sense of direction, and some skill. Honestly tell me what you struggle with and I'll try to help to solve the issue. Also make sure everyone on the team knows how to do every roll. There will no carrying this time around.

Next character was brutal and incomplete. A titan who wasn't 100% on what to do was frustrating. 2 titans with low TOM and letting ogres up too much meant they started wandering. When we switched a person around, took care of that. Relic runner stood so far away on detonation that at least 1 person would die cause couldn't get back fast enough. Eventually the runner started dying first too and stated how much he hated running with his warlock despite being adamant for the last hour that he be the runner. Finally switched, 1st try and he and his buddy leave the fireteam. Great - thanks for the help - not! Next few people join and only 3 of us talk and the rest whisper if that. Finally start it and ppl start dying on knights. RAGE QUIT! had enough after 2 hours of trying that. It's really not hard but boy do you need everyone to stay alive and not mess about. Had one wipe where someone said died only to the self res after everyone wiped. Another when a person joked that the 4th knight had eaten the blight only to then state he was joking. Very frustrating cause the usual teams I run with it goes so so smoothly.

I find that people just can not coordinate what plate they're on half the time, that or somehow die on their plate when all they have to do is sit in the corner and wait really... but I'm very patient so I don't rage on people, I try and help them

Wanna find good teams for oryx, find fireteams just after weekly reset! Teams tend to be the fastest around this time! Ive left till the weekend on a couple of characters and found a hard time finding those complete teams where everyone can at least be competent in doing most parts!

I admit it. I am one of those who have been dying at Oryx. Here is my confession: -died as a titan in the middle on the last ogre. ToM killed me as I had run out of blessings (several times) -died trying to stop the fourth Knight that was running for the blight. Too many ads. (once) -ran to the wrong platform (twice) -died triggering the bombs as I stayed there too long (once) But thanks to patient team mates I have hopefully learned. I will also try to be patient with newbies...

What you've experienced is the reason why I stopped doing kings fall. I've only 4 or so completions, I played it many times without finishing so I could learn all parts of the raid, I know exactly what to do and I can do my part easily. However when two or three members of the team suck badly it becomes incredibly annoying. Seeing as I don't have loads of time to game I don't want to be spending 4+ hours on a raid, that's between finding people to join, then finding replacements for the quitters then the countless wipes as the one guy that can't jump is torn at sisters. Kf is the worst raid imo. And I'm glad poe is coming back because I'll only need 1 random to join me and my buddy.
