So, with the release of the April patch info, it's pretty safe to assume that the Prison will be making a return in some capacity, given that Bungie decided to show us Taken versions of the PoE from yesteryear.
Now, could it be that the new strike also mentioned, 'Blighted Chalice' refers literally to a chalice of some sort; a dark temptation that weak-willed Guardians have sought out in order to increase their power? Could this chalice be a relic, a link, somewhat to Oryx and the Darkness?
What if the two are connected? What if the Reef, even with it's Queen missing, still operates the Prison to a certain degree, adding new deadly inmates that happen to threaten both them and us? Could these new inmates be Corrupted Guardians, who have strayed far from the Light on a quest to gain more power, perhaps even to become as Oryx was; A God?
Are these fallen Guardians going to be who were putting down for good within the Prison?
Or will I even be on Destiny on April 12th as this is when my Steam pre-purchase of Dark Souls III unlocks...
All very interesting questions, Guardians.

1 ReplyDidn't read post but you're looking too much into it. It'll be a reskin of the spekis strike with taken in it, that is also time gated.
-
The Chalice is mentioned in only one other thing. The Raid on Crota.
-
Remember that strike in TDB? Had two modes, one mode had a chalice of Light. Its that.
-
I think it has something to do with the taken in the hellmouth, Planst Destiny talked about on their recent podcast.
-
Haha no

What if i die in april 12? Or will i be off work that day? I ask this questions every day...[sorry i had to trow it out]
-
You must scan, yes? What if we fight a Taken Varriks?
-
You are going to the Hellmouth to investigate a Taken gathering. That's what's it's going to be about
-
Blighted Chalice: Someone must always be holding the chalice but if they hold it too long they die. Shields only regen when you're holding the chalice.
-
I think it could be related to Crota's End because there is a "Chalice of Light" at the Crota fight. The "Blighted Chalice" could be the taken version that turns us into Taken Guardians.

Dark souls 3 is going to be awesome can't wait to sink my teeth into that game, but I will spend sometime playing destiny's update to see what all came out

5 RepliesIt's pretty obvious guys come on. Do POE. Do a new harder mode called blighted chalice. Gain taken shader for completion or flawless.
-
Or perhaps the Taken now own the Prison in absence of the Queen? Perhaps they are using it to imprison those they cannot Take now that the King is dead.
-
Or...play both?

Taken guardians, that is a possibility, imagine going against corrupt guardians with stormcaller, sunbreaker or nightstalker abilities. It would be a heck of a strike. A lot of forum posts out there speculating the content. All great ideas.

2 RepliesInterestingly enough anyone that killed oryx in his throne world need only wish it and they can walk the same path as him and take up his power says so in the lore that there's a job opening
-
Crota's End? it has a chalice.
-
Obviously your guardian becomes taken after you pick up the chalice in the new strike.
-
7 RepliesThe images of taken in the weekly update were of Guardians, not PoE bosses.
-
1 Replythe only place we see the chalice is Crotas end, so I would assume it had to do with crota
-
You're speculation will probably be better than the actual update.... When I imagine things like this it always ends up that way....
-
It would be awesome if we have to catch the taken to fight in the prison of elders
