3 RepliesSpanking is [i]not[/i] abuse. Anyone who says so obviously has not taken even a basic Psychology class. It's called Positive Punishment. It's what prevents little shits from becoming like the kids in #Destiny.

A simple slap on the back of the hand, followed by a short verbal explanation is a quick way to reinforce that something shouldnt be repeated. Too much verbal discipline = bad, as the child generally understands what the problem is already. They will just feel as if they are being talked down to which makes them feel stupid and lowers self esteem. Too much physical discipline = bad, creates snowballing trust issues and is bad for many obvious reasons.

I dunno, my parents had a wooden paddle when my siblings and I were younger It had the words [i][b]little rod[/b][/i] carved into it. You put your hand trying to block it? Another hit. We messed up... We got the paddle We lied... We got hot sauce and/or soap Maybe it's abuse? Maybe not? But one thing's for sure. It taught me respect, and not to be a pansy.

I'd only do it if the issue was life threatening. Swimming in a fast flowing river. Bullying a Doberman. Crossing the street without looking.

Beat them until they're sobbing at your feet then beat them some more. Make sure to kick them out of the house so they have to sleep outside as well.
