Edit: A few people have actually been having a discussion. I appreciate that. The rest of you are just pathetic scrubs who can't live without their crutch and can't string together anything resembling a good reason why year one guns shouldn't be separated somehow in the crucible playlists.
Edit 2: A lot of people are wrongly assuming that I think Thorn should go away because I'm getting killed by it. That's not true. Of course I die to it sometimes, but that's true of all guns. I don't care about getting killed. I care that Thorn is an almost infinite source of burn which completely changes the flavor of the match for everybody. No weapon, especially a primary, should have that big an impact on the game's landscape. Thorn isn't as good as MIDA or Last Word, but you'll notice I don't care about those guns. That's because those guns are just (very good) guns. They can't completely zone players out of a section of the map with endless DoT without cooldown. Thorn just changes the game so heavy-handedly that it reduces the quality of the overall PvP experience. Of course Thorn can be countered. Killing Thorn users is usually pretty easy, but you still get zoned by a single shot from a bad player, and now you're removed from the fight for a stupid amount of time because somebody bodyshot you once with a hand canon. That's just stupid.
Edit 3: Very few people seem to read. Yes, Thorn is easy to beat. No, I don't want it nerfed. Yes, I think it's fine that people use Thorn. Hell, I use Thorn every once in a while. My issue is that the gun is poorly designed, and that it's secondary uses (meaning the things the gun does outside of active engagements) force entire matches into specific limited subsets of strategies and tactics. That creates a limited PvP experience whenever the gun is present. No gun with DoT should be part of the game's PvP, especially because the DoT is virtually infinite and, therefore, can zone players at will without reprieve. Starting now, I will ignore anyone whose post demonstrates that they haven't read this.

Cant handle a gun thats in the game then idk wat to tell you. Its pvp and people will use wat they please. It wont be removed from game. It wasnt taken out in year 1 then it wont in year 2 just saying. Find ways around it.

i got the thorn as soon as the bounty came out, it was really easy as a voidwalker warlock with all void weapons. the thorn isn't even that good of a gun i have maybe 100 kills with it in pvp across all 3 characters, then again i don't like hand cannons

Just put it back to its original vanilla state, I swear everybody hated it back then, saying it was complete shit considering how hard it was to get. I used it back then. It was fine. Ridiculously slow reload and 6 bullets. As usual, when bungie touches anything in this game they break it.

Thorn is not broken. It's very good but you have to be good to get the best out of it. To be completely honest, Thorn is great where it is - other weapons (for once) need to be brought up to compete with it, rather than the vice versa. Pulses need a little buff again, some specific HC's like Hawkmoon need tweaking a little. Doctrine is too good for an auto but the rest need bringing up (nerfing fastest fire rate and buffing slower fire rates seems plausible), it's stupid when the best auto is a legendary. Scouts are good right now, but the legendary scouts are toast and aren't worth using. Bungie need to be smart about tweaks, picking individual guns and archetypes more thoroughly rather than dumping an entire class of weapon.

Thorn isn't the strongest pvp weapon. People are just normally scared by the DOT. At mid to long MIDA and other scouts will destroy it. At close, DOP and TLW will wreck it. Thorn is only strong if you're in a legit gunfight against it.

thorn is the biggest crutch weapon in the game. it still kills in 3 body shots LMFAO. for a DoT weapon that is absolutely insane because you don't have to fully engage in a gunfight because you can casually walk to cover after landing the third shot. anyone who disagrees with me is either a PvE player who needs crutch weapons to even compete or is someone with thousands of kills with it.

Here's a way to make you feel better, get a friend, just one, go into a 3v3 game mode, hope your third guy is using thorn, revive him to get res sniped, over, and over and over again .....*some pussy* has left the game..... Then smile knowing you've achieved enlightenment in the heart of battle :) Anyone that thinks shooting 3 body shots to get a kill with a hand canNon takes skill just stfu, you're talking shit. Here's your challenge, name any other hand cannon that can do the same. Good luck. P.s anyone thats said "but it's an exotic" has publicly admitted they lack the intelligence to realise that having that gun equipped is an open admittance to the enemy that you completely lack any gun skill what so ever.
