Loving the new Match Making
Wow, I really love the new connection based match making for Iron Banner. So far I am now 0 for 10 matches and at least 50% of the time the other team has double our score!
This is really awesome because I know all the good players are loving the easy games against those of us who suck! My goal is just to win 1 game today and so far in 2 hours, I haven't been close once.

Ah, another great day for PvP. I just went 1 for 10 in a mix of 3v3 and 6v6. My only win, I was second to last. Everything else we lost bigtime, time and time again. A few times I was leading my team - which should really tell you how bad we were. But I only really lost 1 of them - my new metta is "Rage Quitting". I love to quit now more than ever as it is my only way to protest.

Wait so you're telling me that in this game, like everything else in every aspect of life and gaming and all of the above, people better than you perform at a higher level than you? Oh my god bungie protect this poor little helpless scrub. This no kid left behind shit is getting old. It's called "competition" strive to excel or fail. Funny how every loser thinks they should be put in a box to play with bigger losers.

It is still mostly skill based and if you check that loss streak and the players you were against you will see that they were similar in KD and ELO to your team. Queueing solo is always risky as if you come up against a full team that can communicate then you are already at a disadvantage

3 RepliesWhat is your overall impression and experience when you play regular Control? To me, Iron Banner still seems quite a lot based on skill - I had a full fireteam yesterday (all top tier PvP players from my clan) and we had to play well in order to win close matches. We also spent a lot of time in Orbit searching for a match, which smells like SBMM being weighed quite heavily, still. Therefore, I doubt it is exactly the same matchmaking settings as it is in Control, even though Bungie said so. In general, I think that gamemodes like Iron Banner or Trials of Osiris should be entirely based on connection and not on skill. (I like the idea of the amount of wins on the Trials card, though - this combined with entirely connection based is great!)

Edited by OriginalMrDave: 2/25/2016 9:56:14 AMYep. I lost 11 games in a row last night. In usually ok at PvP but not amazing, last night just felt like I was being kerb stomped over and over. What's worse is they've reduced the iron medallion cap from 10 to 5 so for 6 games I literally got nothing.

That's what the elitists want. Get easy kills so their precious kd will go up. They had to suffer in all these sweaty matches against equally skilled players. Yeah that sucks. What casuals want doesn't matter, they are only 90% of the players.

Same bro... I'm getting killed 10x more and killing 1/20th as many enemies in this IB... It is complete ass. The worst games so far are when I'm on a fireteam or hosting the game. I have seen 3-4 second kill lag and so on. Worst IB ever and I wish I'd kept out like all my friends. I may be done after this, since once PvP is trash, nothing is left for me.

Games like that I just shoot one person every so often and sit in a corner what's the point of trying when a match is on the verge of a mercy rule ending.

Just tank your kd, and enjoy the ride. They've tweaked the SBMM to focus a little more on connection, but skill is still a big factor.

Hahaha you're funny. My team was matched against try hards all day. We are good, and the other team was good. It gets old having to go full force every damn game. Crucible, IB, & Trials were just fine and Bungie ruined them all. Why? Because whiners on the forums. Learn to play, and stop whining already. This organization of whiners have successfully ruined the very last fun thing to do in this game. I'm out. Deuces.

Good player are loving the easy games? Not when we get put on garbage teams, drop 3-4k per game and still lose them all. Its impossible to run without a team now that it tries to over balance the stats...

The alternative is to run into laggy red bar players who literally don't take any damage. My stats are pretty similar to yours and I'd love it if SBMM didn't lag, but it does. At least when you run into great players your bullets have a chance to damage them.
