Valentines "Crimson Doubles" is going to be the biggest flop in Destiny's history.
Terrible idea, inappropriate subject matter and even worse locked by the lack of matchmaking for most players.
My friends and I were discussing this and none of us even want to play it. What do you think, will you play, do you care?
I see a major flop in the making.
edit: seems like the only people who are gonna play are those hoping for a 320 ghost. I hope you guys know that Bungie said it can drop UP TO 320. It will be the same shit as the last couple of Iron banners. Good luck with the grind.

It's not going to be a failure. People will play for a) fun and b) that 320 ghost chance. I don't think this event is what the community wants however.

I think my wife, my friends and my Clan/Alliance mates are going to have a laugh playing it together over the weekend, and I think anyone being so noxious and attention seeking that they whine about an event without even playing it, is almost as pathetic as you failing to find ONE person willing to play it with you (so you whine about Matchmaking) I think you need new friends, a new attitude, and/or a new game; since you are clearly so miserable here.

It might be ok, just hoping the rewards aren't linked to wins. PvP skill seems to elude me, which makes finding a good partner even harder. So I find myself accepting anyone willing to play with me and then I will spend the next 60 minutes of my life watching the respawn screen while I'm aggressively bagged. All this time knowing rng won't give me the item that I want or need. But hell I'll throw £10 at screen buy the bling emote which has set the forums on fire and get banned from every raid team I join in future.

320 ghosts, even one of my raid team who doesn't like pvp is considering playing it...come on man, don't be a hater, it's really not cool.

I'm actually more interested in GTA's Valentines Day update. If that turns out to not be worthwhile, I'll be on an Island in the middle of nowhere solving puzzles. A heck, who am I kidding. I'll be on The Witness.

I guarantee there will be a Eververse item you can buy that will give you a random reward drop. I'll probably buy hotline bling, and one of those, and continue waiting for Golgoroth challenge mode to resurface.

2 RepliesI'm just gonna play chill. I'm guessing the rewards will be end game, so can get something whether you win or lose with no sort of 'Lighthouse situation' for the best gear. It's only ghosts and shaders, but could be fun for like ... 2 hours.

Of all the people on my friends list no one was playing Destiny at reset tonight, 2 people on my friendlist were playing Rainbow Six tonight at reset. Ive never played that game but I assume they find the game in a better state than Destiny right now.

14 RepliesWhat you fail to realize is Bungie could care less if you play the actual event. They want everyone to purchase the "new" emotes and anything else offered by Tess. It's about Silver sales, not the gameplay. At least with SRL anyone could play. Forcing teams to play events IS shortsighted. Having a Valentines "event" when your player base is mostly male is just stupid. It makes me wonder what Bungie has planned for St. Patrick's.
