Valentines "Crimson Doubles" is going to be the biggest flop in Destiny's history.
Terrible idea, inappropriate subject matter and even worse locked by the lack of matchmaking for most players.
My friends and I were discussing this and none of us even want to play it. What do you think, will you play, do you care?
I see a major flop in the making.
edit: seems like the only people who are gonna play are those hoping for a 320 ghost. I hope you guys know that Bungie said it can drop UP TO 320. It will be the same shit as the last couple of Iron banners. Good luck with the grind.

This is one event that could really be helped with ranked match making; by separating the pros from the casuals.

The only reason I can see it doing badly is if the bounties and rewards are catered to the elite. Like if you have to go flawless since its a 2v2 elimination game mode. I personally won't probably play just since I do enjoy trials and stuff but I don't have a partner good enough to help with crimson doubles. I've never gone flawless in too so I am not getting my hopes up since I doubt I would get the rewards unless they just hand out participation ghosts and shaders lol

People will buy whatever crap they spew out for silver and Bungie will see it as a success. As long as people keep buying the micro transactions Bungie won't bring out any decent content. Why put a ton of work into dlc/expansions when you can bang out a random event and make a fortune off a few emotes

Cant wait to get comfy grab some popcorn and watch the salt flow when people realise it's another micro transaction promotional event, at this point these events are just excuses to sell gimmicks for cash.

Why would it be a flop? Doubles is awesome. Trials is awesome 320 ghost Not sure why it would be bad?

7 RepliesThe power of the crystal ball once again raises its head. Why not enlighten the communal with your PR prowess and let Bungie know in depth why it will be a failure? To me this is just another destiny is dead post, no content, structure or facts; cantankerous before the event.

It's a stupid, misguided idea that shows the lack of creativity in this live team. I know the team is small but this doubles event is over the top lazy. I promise you the emotes and motion capture stuff is where the majority of the time and work went. Year 2 is such garbage in this game.

It's not going to be a failure. People will play for a) fun and b) that 320 ghost chance. I don't think this event is what the community wants however.
