Last Word makes PvP unplayable
Seriously... Its DPS is so ridiculously high, everyone uses it - they'd be foolish not to. Why do you have such a hard on for this gun Bungie?
The Last Word kills in .53 seconds (3 body shots). With headshots (2) it's .26 seconds. Nothing else is remotely close. So of course everyone uses it, which takes all the variety out of PvP. For all your talk about weapon balance Bungie, why do you insist on ignoring how broken this gun is?
EDIT: To all you "get gud" kiddies, this isn't a gripe about being killed by TLW. It's feedback about how an unbalanced weapon leads to lack of variety, which is bad for crucible.

I just started playing again after stepping away from the game due to the op and balancedness of TLW. I was never this bad even when thorn was the meta. Man do I hate this gun. Will be returning game soon too bad because I like destiny but pvp is all there is at the moment

I only used TLW for the chaperon quest (lot of good either of those guns have done for me) and I don't think it should be nerfed/ removed. Granted, if they keep TLW the same, they better be rebuffing all of the guns they've nerfed, specifically Red Death (in the past few days, it seems like the red death has gotten a rebuff)

83 RepliesI like how people defend this gun. It's a gun that 1. Doesn't need to be aimed down. 2. Is full auto. 3. Has more range than it says. 4. Has a TTK that beats LMGs ideally and competes with them when not. 5. Is extremely stable. Compensating for recoil isn't hard in any way, shape, or form. It is an easy mode gun that a braindead chimpanzee can pick up and do good with. Now if other primaries aren't going to get buffed. Then the answer is surely that the one up top (The Last Word) will need a nerf.

1 ReplyThere's a reason that that The Last Word is being used more than every other Hand Cannon COMBINED. It kills faster than heavy weapons. All this BS about how you need to have a strategy to beat it is caca. You need a strategy to beat any weapon. Hawkmoon got nerfed to the ground. Thorn got left behind in year one. But the last turd is still OP as a mother and now the crucible is just a boring camp fest. Everyone just hard scoping doorways with the 1000 yard stare because they know if anyone gets close they can just mow them down with their primary that they don't even have to aim. No other gun exotic or legendary TTK even comes close no wonder all these fanboys are jocking it.

I hardly ever lose a 1v1 against this gun unless turning a corner and being much closer than expected. It's good but not great..

The only hand cannon is the last word, the most used scout rifle is the mida, the most used sniper is the 1 k yard stare the only shotgun is the conspiracy theory and the only rocket launcher is the truth. Thats how it is. Oh and i forgot the only light machine gun is the quillim terminus btw.

I hardly use that gun, it is not needed at all. Many more guns that are viable.

I used The Last Extremity, Havoc Pigeon, and Truth in all Iron Banner matches on all 3 characters. I never had a problem with The Last Word. I never used it nor was I being killed by it so much that I noticed. I have found that my havoc pigeon does more damage in Trials of Osiris than Iron Banner, strange. I do not do normal crucible often, but when I do, I use Up For Anything auto rifle with a shotgun. Are you upset about TLW being OP in regular crucible, Iron Banner, or Trials? I have seen some of my weapons do more and less damage in different versions of PVP.

It's really not OP, strong, but not OP. This is some of the most weapon diversity I've seen in recent history.

Last word is garbage. It needs a buff just like all the other hand cannons. It has the range close to a shotgun... So if you run into a shotgun... Boom yer dead. It has HORRIBLE recoil. It's the one gun that I can't use. You just need to stay away from last word and not get near...and problem solved. Fight it from range, don't get close or pull out your shotgun.

To this day I will argue that Hawkmoon is better than The Last Word. I always and I mean always out perform myself when using Hawkmoon. You can't tell me that is based on chance.

I agree, it's too powerful. I don't use it. I tried using it earlier for the Chaperone quest and I was doing terrible. I'm not good with it, so I don't use it. I've been using pulse rifles since I started playing.

2 RepliesIt is designed to be the ultimate close range weapon, that was the intent of bungie while they were designing it and they have now made it a debatable weapon, but Indo not know what universe you are in that it kills in 3 body shots and in .53 seconds.
