So how did everyone become a pro sniper all of a sudden?
No seriously. Was everyone always this good? Was I always getting head shotted in year one? Did all the bk's leave and only the pros now remain?

Aim assist got increased to compensate for the increase in flinch. Certain perks and scopes basically make the reticle stick to the head when you hover over it.

No sniping in this game is elementary and most players are just pre aiming doorways and lanes with 1000 yard aim assist. Literally not hard to do.

I just started using it. Pretty simple to strafe and let aim assist pick up the head.

4 RepliesIdk. Everyone needs to take a chill pill and learn to use a fusion now. I feel like I'm the only one still using them. They take more skill than a sniper now. Aim assist causes the scope to slow when aiming over an enemy. This greatly increases the time you have to snipe (huge for the amount of time a gunfight lasts). Go on a 10 kill streak with just a fusion, then I'll be impressed.

Everyone defaults to the lowest common denominator in any meta. First it was auto rifles and fusions. Then it was exotic hand cannons and shotguns. Then pulse rifles and now sniper rifles. People will use the best weapons period. This game will always struggle with balance as long as everyone can bring their own perk build into the crucible.

Some people who used shotguns decided to switch because of the nerf, some still remain with shotguns. I decided to learn to use them both, so it's whatever I'm in the mood for.

What most people haven't realized is that now snipers rain superior to rocket launchers in raids and in strike so now everyone is sniping and get better at it unconsciously

2 RepliesIt is not hard to snipe in destiny... I'm gonna laugh when they nerf snipers make them a 2 shot head shot lmfao. A short range scope with a high rate of fire and medium impact is the perfect sniper i guess no one was around when praedyth's revenge was the shit. I should pull it out they want OP how about i give them a sniper with zero recoil and a RoF faster then a scout rifle.

This is only an issue in PvP, and I think it'd make even more sense if we started each match without special ammo, and had to grab crates in order to have some. As well as further cut down on special ammo crate spawn rates. 2-3 times per match. Let's have an era that encourages the primary and a Trails season where it's not a total snipe fest.

The secret is that sniping isn't anywhere as difficult to do as people make it out to be. You've also got people saying AA doesn't matter but slowing down the reticle when going over someones head helps significantly to landing shots.

Everyone finally started using them after their crutch shotguns were nerfed. Plain and simple. Snipers are the same as they've always been.

I was never real good with snipers until ttk and since i was forced to use one for well about every aspect of the game you kinda get forced to get better

You're facing people who can snipe your face off bot due to a particular guns aim assist but because you're facing better players. Why do you think trials is so much harder? The less casuals playing this game, all you will have left is ridiculous pvp player after another. Elitist raid players, sorry makes me laugh , lol. You guys have to realize, you are what's left. You are hardcore players. I left from oct till just this past week. I took my break, I enjoyed fallout, hated halo, and enjoyed time with my family and broke the addiction to destiny. I always knew I'd be back though. The problem is we need the casuals to come back but in all honesty I don't see this happening until a proper sequel is released with real next generation graphics, drop the 360 and PS3. I don't see the casuals coming back until this community gets off its elite high horse and realizes that you need bad players, good players, and great for the game to succeed.
