Bungie announced that they are bringing back Year 1 Exotics.
Just think about that statement for a second, and what it implies.
TTK has been out since September, and it's almost December. So it's been out roughly 3 months. So ask yourself this: Why now? Why didn't they just bring all of the Y1 exotics to Y2 in the first place?
Why would they announce that so many Y1 exotics were being left behind, only to come back later and say "Just kidding, guys. Check out all of these cool exotics we're bringing to Y2!"
Take a moment to realize that they announced this like it was some huge deal. Like, okay, you're letting us use weapons that should have never been made obsolete in the first place?
This is just a bad look, Bungie. A very, very bad look. It's like you were holding out a carrot, took it away, then held it out again 3 months later and expected us to still be excited over the same carrot. Seriously?
Does anyone else see how messed up this is? They are giving us back something that they took away in the first place. And, again, WHY NOW? Why now, after they already claimed that these weapons were not coming to Year 2? Why would they change their minds?
Because they're desperate. Because people are leaving in droves and they think they can throw you the exact same carrot as before, and you'll go crazy over it like the moron they think you are. Please wake up and see this for what it is: a desperate ploy to get you excited again over THE SAME SHIT. For your own sake.
Bump. New mida is overshadowed by better legendaries. New dragons breath is neat idea but meh in execution. Who gives a shit about pocket infinity anyway with the broke ass recoil issue in 2.1. Anyone that thought this was gonna save destiny want to step up to the plate and reevaluate the situation? Destiny is dying. And it must to actually get better some day.

1 ReplyIt means grind. Infuse, then grind for more stuff, then infuse again, then grind. Just a way to keep the fanboys pumping in hours.
-
I couldn't agree more! They really do treat us like idiots. So glad more and more people are seeing through this shît. Bungie deserves all the hate that is thrown their way... never have I seen a company treat it's paying customers with this much contempt

Edited by Jake cant shoot: 11/25/2015 12:18:24 AMGuess who say this coming?

1 ReplyI can't agree more. The only way to prevent this stuff from happening is, stop buying silver or any micro transactions. Why do you think they introduced this "refer a friend" bullshit. Cmon guys, who knows someone who is JUST NOW buying destiny. I've invested over 4 months worth of playtime, endless nights without sleep... And this is how they repay you. I had respect for bungie listening to what their users had to say... But now we're being force fed some garbage. Once we all stop buying useless dances and worthless taunts, they will either make a move or close up shop. I played LITERALLY every day through year and they show no respect to the people who've invested a second life into this. Think about house of wolves.... Preorder a season pass for a guaranteed raid in each expansion. So.... Where was the raid? Snipped out. Instead, here's some prison of repetition. The concept might have take a week to come up with. This is what we're supporting people. And to close this out... Constant reskinned armor, weapons and shaders. Give me the same exact weapon in trials of Osiris, call it a new name and reverse the colors. Same stat rolls. Bros..... How lazy can a gaming company be that is being funneled money with half ass, lazy work. We need to stand up and stop playing and stop funding this bull. Whether it's a dollar or 10... We will continue to receive half ass content as long as they can kick back, change a few colors, rename some text and call it new. Open your eyes guys.

Yeah, it's pretty much garbage. When I saw this on twitter my first thought was "why are you making a big deal about giving us back guns you took away?". They're trying anything they can to bring players back and I think it's because they were hit harder than they expected to be by Halo 5, Blops 3 and Fallout 4. In all fairness though, they did make it pretty clear that they would bring back most of year 1 exotics throughout year 2 so it shouldn't be a surprise.

22 Replies"I told you so" just doesn't seem to be enough. I warned everyone months ago what this was going to be, I warned my wife too and like everyone here, she didn't listen. Will any of the Bungie butt boys, my wife included, have enough balls to say, "you know what casey? You were right about everything."? Of course not, but I don't need anyone to, knowing I was Right is enough for me. Enjoy being f.ucked out of your money just to get content you already own back.

1 ReplyI think that this move to re-release some of the Y1 gear at Y2 levels reflects more of the chaos than the cash-grab at Bungie HQ. Despite what they have said, I don't think they ever did plan to re-release Y1 gear. I think they were caught completely off-guard by the intense anger over the announcement that Y1 gear wouldn't ascend in Y2 - that was the straw that broke thousands of players' backs - and have been working on bringing Y1 gear forward ever since. It's an attempt to appease players who are on the razor's edge, but I do not believe that it has been part of the plan all along. It's a patch in the Titanic's hull. More generally, I think they were unprepared for the level of sophistication - yes, sophistication - of this gaming community. They underestimated us : underestimated our ability to organize, to protest, to boycott, to hold them accountable. Whether you quit after HoW, yesterday, or still play and comment here to improve the game, Bungie has been overwhelmed by the level and combination - some measured some inflammatory (it's all good!) - of anger articulated by this Community.

1 ReplyBungie has had 4 live launches for this game in a year and still can't even decide, at the very least, on a singular based leveling or currency system that works. That should tell you all you need to know. None of it is gonna change and no one cares anyway. Like my daddy used to say, it's all about the money. I'm not bitter about the game and have enjoyed my time but I can't ever recall playing a game that didn't know what it wanted to be that it kept changing even the most basic elements of its own game. Whether I come back to it or not is unknown, but looking at the updates and upcoming changes makes me not miss it one bit. I wonder if it misses me? Never mind, I know the answer.

58 RepliesThis one is simple. So we try new weapons. Be real here, I would never try other weapons or gear if all the old stuff was around. I would use the same weapons for years without being forced to change it up. It's a large ever-changing game it's a huge waste to never touch any of the new guns or gear. That doesn't make them bad
-
2 RepliesExactly, because games that are actually good are all being released now, so they have to herd the people back in somehow. What better way than to release all their favorite shit that has been obsolete for so long. Glad i can see past the bullshit so i don't get roped in again to this terrible excuse of a game
-
actually, Smith stated in an interview just after the release of TTK, that Bungie was eventually going to "re-introduce" some of the other Yr 1 exotics., Either way, they should never have made any if the Yr 1 stuff obsolete. It was an unnecessary move on their part
-
6 RepliesThey did the same with gun parts and everyone jumped for joy. Now they're doing it with exotics. Everyone is excited. Think about it in real life: Tax returns. The government takes something (money) then gives it back. Everyone acts like its free money. All you really did was give the government an interest free loan. People tend to block out the bad and remember the good. Part of the psychology Bungie uses, along with gambling addiction.

2 RepliesEdited by GhostD0gSamurai: 11/23/2015 5:43:46 AMBump. It's like stealing someone's birthday present to give them something for Christmas. As funny as it is ridiculous, insultive and moronic. Git gud, Bungie! You only have so long to do so. https://www.bungie.net/en/Forum/Post/173224562

1 ReplyThis news of bringing yr1 exotics into yr2 is sweet..... But should have been done with the release of TTK. I spent around $100 bucks on this game with the first two DLC's. I didn't pre order the $80 TTK DLC. For that price? Give me a break made it clear bungie only wanted money from my pocket. Not my loyalty as a customer. I had a ton of fun playing Destiny but ultimately I felt ripped off and quit a week before TTK released. All the cut and paste dlc's really make me wonder if bungie even care's about the Destiny fan base. I like this game, I had a lot of good times with friends on here. I was hoping Bungie would start listening to the fan base. Don't think they will with they're current track record in mind. Hope Destiny 2 will be better.... "Cringe"..... More of the same repetitive grinds, lack of story, cut and paste dlc's? Man and they promised such a sweet story for Destiny 1... Really left you wanting more... Than you got sold a tiny (lots of grinding) bit of content for a high price 3 times, it was promised to be awesome. Ugh....
-
They're acting like they're giving people an early Christmas present ... but in reality it's more akin to a hostage release. Plus they still have more 'year 1' hostages to do this with again! And this is to say nothing of how they've been actively withholding 'year 2' exotics from those who paid for TTK ... all in yet another BS attempt to keep people running on that hamster wheel - hoping that actual "content" will appear out of thin air.
-
These Idiots don't realize they are just lazy and don't want to bring new exotics out. So what ever exotics they have hidden now will be going to destiny 2. Lol. People are so delusional
-
The only thing I disagree with in the rant, they did say most of them were coming back at a later date. No when or why they were being held, but that at some point most would be back into the game.
-
yeah, they are phoning it in wile playing fallout4. arent we all playing fallout4 though? if you arent you are missing out imo.
-
-
3 RepliesThey are adding them back because: 1. we NEVER stopped complaing about it 2. and two, it makes sence. its the bare minimum in listening to your customers imo. and it leaves a long way to go...
-
1 ReplyThis isn't news. They said before TTK launched that they'd bring more exotics back. We just didn't know when.
-
2 RepliesIt doesnt matter what they tell you or how many empty promises they make. Destiny two hits the shelves and theyre gonna scrap everything all over again. Epic ten year arc my ass
