I just don't understand I see all this scrubs playing pvp in black ops on my friend list yet. They never play it on destiny because it's to hard or people are cheating all the excuses in the world. I need someone to enlighten me as to why?

52 Repliesignoring the crazy lag.. here's my take..(this post got lengthy so I Underlined the relevant answers to your question) CoD has a superfast time to kill(TTK), this means the skill gap between players is going to be much smaller. A scrub player can win against a good player in a heads up firefight 8/10 times if he starts shooting first. Thus a scrub can have an easier time having good matches/winning aka "fun". The unfortunate side effect of a low TTK and small maps is camping, the game is less about player skill, and more about getting the 'drop' on your opponent. Skilled/average players do well, scrubs do ok. Destiny on the other hand has a much higher TTK and slightly larger maps, making camping an obsolete tactic. The higher TTK also increases the skill gap, which makes it harder for scrub players to do well/have fun because a higher skilled player will win most of the engagements. Destiny has a nice balance between player skill and getting the drop on your opponent. The skilled players do great, average players do ok, and the scrubs, well they're scrubs. Now for an outside example to round out the picture. I'm going to use Crysis 3. Crysis had a higher TTK than Destiny, and large maps. The armor mechanic would further increase the TTK. The stealth mechanic allowed a clever player to get the drop on his opponents reliably. These two mechanics combined with the naturally higher time to kill made for an extremely large skill gap between players. The end result is all about player skill. A handful of skilled players do extremely well, and the vast majority of other players just get wrecked. So what does this all mean? It's quite simple, it's easier to have 'fun' for the majority of players in CoD because the playing field is more level. They're not getting wrecked constantly by highly skilled players(aka the Destiny elite). I also believe this is a major reason Crysis 3 died less than 3 months after release, people don't want to play a game they get wrecked in all the time. Could this be the cautionary tale for FPS Devs? Keep the skill gap low, keep your playerbase.

2 RepliesBecause black ops pvp is easy. Everyone has the same chance for the same weapons and killstreaks. Its For bad kids that can't cut it in here.
-
10 RepliesBo3 has an insanely low ttk It's essentially a game of he who shoots first wins So it favors Corner camping Plus you kill streak bonuses to make it even easier to rack up the kills the near ostentatious respawn times also favor quick rushing type gameplay Overall it's a "feel good shooter " -makes lesser skilled players feel like they are doing good Versus the halo and destiny type that is a much longer ttk that getting the first shot in doesn't matter as much in who wins that engagement. Much more team oriented combat Combat has much more depth in it verse cod- which has nothing above guns and grenades; the new class abilities and movement are just borrowed from destiny and Titan fall

PVP just isn't all that good. Plus, it is pretty harsh for newcomers. Especially since PVP is so heavily centralised around the meta and gear that newer players might not have.
-
2 RepliesThere are no hunters in black ops that ruin the PVP experience with their cheap and scrub like tactics.

2 RepliesBattlefield pvp >

Black ops time to kill is WAY too fast. But what do ya expect at the end of the day it's still CoD
-
1 ReplyLogic is Simple COD PvP = Fast paced, balanced, fun Destiny PvP = Slow, unbalanced, shotguns, meh

Edited by Myth: 11/11/2015 4:21:41 AMIt's easier to get kills in CoD. No need for chaining headshots. (One of the reasons I prefer destiny is the slower TTK )
-
1 ReplyBecause you don't have to hit head shots to kill someone in bo3, just shoot them in the feet and you get a fast kill
-
It may just be me but i find destiny pvp's better than any CoD game i've played so far However i know the crucible is unbalanced af Compared to destiny's pvp halo 5's pvp is a blessing from God
-
1 ReplyThe pvp in destiny is boring and not worth it. But I like the pvp in Halo 5.
-
1 ReplyMy personal reason is because I suck at destiny's PvP. Same with battlefield. But I am able to run the boards on CoD. Every once in a while I have a run of good games here, but for the most part, I'm better at CoD. Not to mention PvE is the reason I bought this game, and its the funnest part for me.

7 RepliesDedicated servers that's why
-
Because you can play all classes in Others games and there not glitch still waiting 4 weeks later can't have 3 shots on bow
-
Camping is more hard core in Bo3. Plus time to kill is a lot faster.
-
Coming from a cod PvP player with no PvP halo exp it's my theory is it's such a learning curve to switch to destiny pvp that people get too frustrated and give up.
-
Because Bops is casual enough and easy enough for the m to have a decent time
-
Once the kids realize that no game is just going to let you win You'll see them bitching about the new stuff too
-
different mechanics, different TTK, different weapons, different meta, different feel in general I don't understand how people that have played both games can even compare the two! Its not a question of better or worse. Its comparing baseball to cricket! It is close but not the same
-
Way better pvp I can use any gun and do goodie destiny I'm forced to use pulse rifles because bungie can't balance for shit
-
Bo3 is a pvp game.
-
Because it's easier on COD. You have a much quicker time to kill. I have BO3. I just get bored playing PVP all the time.
