I'm glad bungie decided to disable quiver! It's what I've been telling my group what's needed to be done since it was recognized.
For anyone here who thinks coding a game as massive as Destiny is easy, think again. The glitch is incredibly curious, with the right helmet and the right perk simply entering and exiting menu gives super back? That is massively easy, it's not like there's some weird workaround based on using super at the last minute. The coding for the super and how it reacts to other armors must be ridiculously spaghetti.
If the exploit was super easy to pull off, the coding must need to be rewritten/retested from the ground up.
Bungie made a smart decision by disabling the perk. Whether you play hunter or not, it was annoying to run into in PvP (yes I main hunter, no I don't have the helmet so don't even try). In other successful games like League of Legends, when the issue is difficult to fix, the entire character is disabled to prevent the exploit from happening.
TL;DR Bungie sadly has to redo code and this was the best possible solution given the problem.

1 ReplyJust a heads up. There is new glitch which allows the tether to last infinitly in PvE lol
-
13 RepliesLOL ... did you see the CODE ???? NO ... LOL... did you ever write CODE for games ??? No ??? Then why, plz why do you tell us its hard ... why do you tell is its spaghetti...they are stupid assumptions you pose as facts ! Stop your stupidity ! Im glad as well they disabled it.. But dont act like you are a coding god...you havent even seen the CODE ! Furthermore game developpers rarely FIX code these days... they simply add more code mostly

Yeah i agree with you, but sadly i never got the chance to use it, so i hope that its fixed soon haha

5 RepliesI play hunter, and i use quiver and graviton in pvp because its simply the best being able to get 3 kills, and being able to shoot a SB/SC twice to kill since they always walk away from tether and to be able shadestep while you use keen scout. Not once did i use the glitch in pvp or pve. That being said, i dont agree with them taking out a whole perk like that, esp if its the best perk to use in pvp... just hate how i gotta deal with the consequences of other scrubs that gotta cheat. Instead of stopping that perk, they should just lock the abusers hunters. Its because of people like them that hunter mains have a bad name.

3 RepliesI think better option would be making the helmet unequipable until fixed.
-
1 ReplyYay for logic. My guess is that the graviton forfeit was once going to provide quiver.
-
It makes sense to do it. They stop the glitch while they work on a proper fix, which in turn does allow them to start trials up.
-
I would have preferred one of the more elegant temporary fixes, like: -making the helmet unequippable -disabeling the menu for the time the super is active -depleting super gauge instantly when the menu is opened while the super has been cast.
-
I wonder what the stats were on how much of the Hunter community actually used it? 60%? 70%?

Edited by Ushiro_Katsuhiro: 10/21/2015 11:31:02 PMCan't say I agree with taking quiver away. They're basically making one class inherently have fewer skill choices available compared to other classes (admittedly, it's only one fewer). However, me personally, I'll just adapt to the current situation and move on. I fully admit to using the glitch in PvE because it was fun and convenient for helping my fireteam past content. But, I absolutely refused to sink to using it in PvP, to any degree or for any reason, because it was clearly unfair and unbalancing in competitive play. In PvE, most people probably don't care because the glitch was of benefit to them, as well. However, in PvP, it most definitely ruins the game for at least half the players in the match.

Finally someone who isn't whining
-
I'm glad they stopped ppl using it I'm a hunter and I use black hole but in raid its golden gun, least they didn't get rid of the helmet as I use mine as its 310 so it put my light level up
-
I played ib up to rank 5 and never encountered it. That being said I agree it was a good way to do a quick fix for people that do trials. I like the explosion perk better anyway.
-
4 RepliesComing from a Hunter main, I agree. Until they can properly fix it, it was the right call.
-
Never liked quiver. Only used it because of said glitch (not in PvP mind you).
-
1 ReplyStfu and go bang your sun breaker class
-
What they did makes sense to me. I had fun with quiver in IB (I used it without the glitch), but understand the needed to use the quick fix temporarily to prevent abuse in normal crucible until the perk is fixed. It does make the class almost pointless in PvP, so I hope they get the real fix in place soon.

2 Replies-blam!- BUNGIE for ruining the subclass for crucible. Why couldn't you fix the glitch instead of getting rid of a unique perk. I didn't glitch it and just got to use it for like a day but now we can't get multi kills with the shot because of how much you fail. Hunters are always the ones who suffer. Bungie doesn't even make great exotics for the Hunters. Warlocks and Titans by far have had the most useful exotics. The bias is real. Bungie loves Warlocks and especially love Sunbreakers because that's what got the spotlight in the TTK trailers and reveals, closely followed by the Stormcaller. They will respond faster to Hunters being OP than anything else that we ask to be changed in the course of months. I'm so done with Bungie. WTF happened to such a great team? You cared about your community and the quality of your games. Now with the endless lies about this game which had so much potential and the most annoying DLC to date with the BS grind of the new leveling system. I'm so tired of this. Destiny may be fun and addicting but the truth that is hidden inside it all is ridiculous.

Bump.

4 RepliesWho the hell uses quiver anyways.

1 ReplyEdited by Buddy: 10/21/2015 10:57:55 AMYour right . Hunters shit enough arrows in Iron Banned only to last weeks
-
30 RepliesMmm disabling hunters sounds like a great idea Nice way to git rid of those only pvp playin whiny -blam!-ers
-
Yup so now they can take their time fixing it and then Reimplement it back in the game. Some people don't understand how much work actually goes into the coding.
