Minimum K/D to Have an Opinion in PVP?
Edit: Well, you guys blew me away with this one. I posted this topic as a sarcastic shout out to the trolls that stifle the PVP conversation with attacks wreaking of their own insecurity. I thought the joke was obvious. Guess I'm not ready for the main stream. Thanks to those that supported me and those with replies ranging from "over 9000" to "a 2 foot dick", you got it. To those of you that gave answers ranging from 1.0-2.0, I have 2 words...GIT GUD!
I often see Guardians voicing their opinion on PVP in the forums get shot down and muted due to their low K/D. e.g. "LMAO, you have a 1.2 K/D noob. Git gud. STFU. Mute". I'd love to know what the minimum requirement is. I've seen people with K/D's as high is 1.7 get flamed. I'll save you the time of looking me up by telling you I'm not even in the ballpark to be qualified. However, I'd love to be able to participate eventually. Please let me know my target so I can pin it up my goal sheet and get to work. Your help is greatly appreciated.

Above 1.0 K/D Shows that you can benefit the team and not be the reason for a loss.

It doesn't matter. Every player deserves the same right to participate and voice their opinion no matter how bad they are. They're still players and still part of the game. That said, you can't go talking shit with a KD of 1.1. Nor can you complain about a lack of content with a Grimoire of 1500.

min required anything above -.1 in a word you have at least played pvp at least once. beyond that k/d means nothing about how much you view is worth compared to someone elses ever. there will always be the elitist pricks that think that they only know what is right when all they are doing is trying to keep the game where it keeps them where they are.

Is K/D even relevant in this game? The PVP is full of supers and godly heavy weapons; it's a casual arcade shooter at best... which is why I like it. If I wanted to get flamed by squeakers for a poor K/D I'd take my amateur ass to CoD.

1 ReplyIn COD, K/D is the end all, be all in Team Deathmatch. But in Domination there are other factors. I feel the same way about Destiny. If you only play Clash, then it is all about K/D, but if you play Control then you have to consider captures and defends as well.

Been playing bungie pvp since system link on original xbox, i have a feel for it but really that doesnt matter. Organized play is better than a lone wolf kd. Id rather have a team of 1.0 who can communicate rather than a team of -kd and 1 guy with 2.8

I have two requirements that must be met in order for me to consider your opinion on crucible as valid. You must own destiny, and have completed a minimum of one crucible match. Then again I'm one of the bad players that would be ignored by the elitists so maybe I'm not qualified to have an opinion on who has valid opinions.

I feel like people forget that by saying even 1.0 K/D is necessary they exclude half the playerbase automatically.

If you don't have at minimum a 1.0 I'd say you can't say anything pvp related.

K/d is basically your skill in gunfights (there are many scenarios and situations) In all fps games k/d is the definition of "skill" its true to CoD, BF, CS and all other fps you can name off. People who are generally good at pvp have high kds and you cant debate that whatsoever. I haven't seen great pvp players with low kds so that about sums it up. Kd matters.
