No trolling, i was genuinely wondering, surely Microsoft have a lot more money than Sony. So how does Sony keep outdoing them in the big deals such as Destiny, Uncharted and now Black Ops 3. It makes no sense to me.

8 RepliesMicrosoft is already on top. They have computers, windows, all that jazz. Why fork out more money when you're already making plenty. Honestly from a destiny standpoint though if a company bailed on you, would you still fund them?
-
In the case of uncharted I think they own the studio...

Arm Wrestle for Contracts in a inner city Bar

Take a look at next gen console sale figures. Ps4 has literally doubled xbone since launch. What gaming or publishing company is going to sign an exclusivity agreement with a company that far behind in sales?
-
1 ReplyMicrosoft didn't care enough to make a competitive bid. They already have halo as an exclusive IP as well as gears of wars. It's a shame for me cause I'm an xb1 fan
-
Sony is willing to pay more, Microsoft doesn't care
-
I believe Microsoft is focusing on other things to sell their consoles rather than relying on exclusivity deals.
-
Bungie wanted ms to give up there 10% share and that wasn't worth it, and can u honestly blame them odds are ms made tons more money then Sony on destiny even without the exclusives
-
4 RepliesX box has fifa exclusivity to Fifa ultimate team legends. That's quite a big thing
-
8 RepliesSony blew xbone out of the water in sales so now Sony has about as much or more than Microsoft. That's probably why.
-
because Sony shelled out the money and Microsoft didn't simple

Edited by Pyro 509: 10/15/2015 4:46:07 PMMicrosoft is focusing more on their exclusive content than 3rd party exclusive content. The exceptions to this is fallout 4 and tomb raider where they have exclusive deals. Halo, gears, forza, and future games being cross platform with windows 10 PC's like fable legends is where Microsoft is taking the xb1. Tie that in with backwards compatibility and other updates to the system they feel benefit their community. Over all it comes down to preference on systems. I'm not overly concerned with timed exclusive like destiny and call of duty. The exclusive aren't enough to make up for great games that I enjoy like Forza horizon 2 and Halo. Specially when they are giving out free DLC for the new halo! But again, it's all preference ;)

Because ummmm sonys better? And uncharted is ps exclusive?

1 ReplyThe head director of Xbox said that Xbox will no longer be focusing on third party exclusives or timed exclusives aka destiny and cod. That is why you see Sony getting all these deals. Xbox is spending their money on their first party exclusives like halo and gears of war
-
13 RepliesHow does microsoft have more money total revenue for microsoft was 22 billion while sony had 68 billion. This information can be found on the internet
-
Doesn't matter who has more money, just who's willing to pay more money. You really couldn't figure that out?
-
2 RepliesIn my opinion, Microsoft has become complacent with their fan base. Even black ops 3 is in sony hands. MLG is switching up to PS4. I've been with xbox from the beginning, but I'm thinking about giving Playstation a try. Anybody agree? Disagree?

Edited by Kyo: Kell of Chairs: 10/15/2015 4:32:58 PMAccording to Phil Spencer (Head if Xbox division at Microsoft) instead of putting money into third party deal Microsoft is going to on their first party title (Halo, Crackdown, Gears). Edit: I also feel the need to point out that the exclusive content deals are not made by the developers but the publishers (A.K.A Activation)

Because Sony paid for exclusivity rights.
-
Sony guy takes money from corporation's wallet, hands it to Bungie/Activision. Microsoft guys keeps hands clasped. Situation explained
-
1 ReplyIt's because Microsoft were complete dicks to bungie so bungie likes Sony more now
-
4 RepliesProbably because ps4 has outsold xbox one by almost 2-1 And before any dickheads comment saying no it hasn't, look on the internet

21 RepliesThe reason is a lot less about business and centers more on newer company policies. tldr at bottom. You see, Microsoft came out a year or so back saying that they will no longer pay money and/or compete for exclusively deals anymore. Games like Destiny used to have system developers like Microsoft and Sony fight over who gets the best exclusives but Microsoft has decided to stop wasting money on deals such as these and concentrate X-Box's funds more towards game development and system development. This move, as a business choice, may seem I'll adviced but I believe Microsoft finally realised that people don't buy consoles because any particular game has better "exclusives" and a buyers decision wavers more around what system has better support and which has better longevity as a gaming device. So Microsoft is making a practical move and shifting money towards other projects like windows 10 for Xbox which will vastly upgrade the systems capabilies and releasing backwards compatibility. They think these changes are what people want. Not one or two more guns than a PS player does in a game most of their customers aren't even playing. This was the reason I went with an Xbox One. I can respect and appreciate their choices and will definitely be buying a PS4 if Sony does something similar. tldr: Microsoft no longer pays for exclusivity deals and Sony does. Which is why they spent millions to get PS users two guns and two strikes at release.

3 RepliesBecause ps4 out sold xbone so much that sony already has the advantage, publishers feel better about the higher sales potential and microsoft, with less systems out, gas to pay more for exclusives
