Am i too old for destiny?
Sorry for the spelling I'm writing this on a broken iPhone
I ask myself this question nowadays..... See the thing is, when I jump on destiny forms and read some of the immature write ups, or I jump into a fireteam with young kids whom are whinny. I start to ask my self this question, am I too old at 26 to be playing a kids game? I use to think no I'm not too old, and that your just going to get immature people playing games no matter where you go, but it seems latley that is the bulk of the destiny community, children saying "look what I got", then when you go to say a word they cut you off. Maybe I'm too old, maybe I'm not. Am I the only other destiny player out there that feels this way?

1. This forum is not the community. 2. Yes some the players are difficult to get along with. Which is why I only put on my headset when I'm playing with people I know....or I'm raiding and have to talk. 3. Consider joining a clan made up of largely adult players. I think that would solve most of your worries. I'm 47----and at 26 you're young enough to be a kid of mine----and I'm NOT "too old " to enjoy this game.

I play with my friends therefore the ppl I play with are my age (29) however I do agree with the part about the forums. Little kids run rampant on the forums making ridiculous posts that contribute nothing to the destiny community and write "git gud" everywhere. Immature kids are the bane to this forums existence.

I must say as I've got older I've become a little "ageist" I've joined groups with teens and Christ on a bike they don't shut up, talking about bollocks in high pitched voices, moaning about EVERYTHING, I used to get battered with my mams sandals if I spoke like that at that age. So yeah, over 20s for me now. Food for thought: how old are game developers

1 ReplyI'm 31 and have been gaming since games came out. I don't plan to ever stop however I am getting to the point where I don't want to play with people who aren't at least mid-twenties and up. I just have no desire to hang out with children and you know what, that's completely normal. So no, you're not too old for gaming, or destiny, but maybe it's about time you found a dedicated group of mature people to play with. Also, for a little better conversation, try reddit.

I'm 30, will be 31 in November. My usual fireteam members are 40 and 45. You're never too old.

Show me a child that can afford a next gen console (without mommy's CC), can afford and sign up for internet services and then do the Oryx battle! Games today and the systems we play them on are not for kids. I absolutely LOVE the group I play with and have more fun with them on a raid night than drinking after work with my idiot co-workers.

I'm 35 with an awesome wife, a 2 year old little boy, and a little girl on the way. Life is busy nowadays, so playing video games with my buddies is how I get to hang out with them.

4 RepliesI am 61 and started playing the first text based adventure game on a PDP-11 computer before personal PC had come into being. Anybody remember the magic word XYYZZY? You never too old to play video games , my whole family plays games even my 65 year old wife. My biggest problem now is I don't have the fast reflexes anymore so PVP can I can sometimes be a bullet sponge but its mainly the twitch shooters and not Destiny as much.

Hell no you.re not too old.I have 3 friends in my list who are son,father grandfather and they raid together.If I remember correctly their ages range from 20's to 60's.Have fun with it and don't let the console punks tell you any differently.My fiance and I are in our 40's with 2 ps4's and both play destiny.

1 ReplyI'm 53 play about 2 hrs a day. My son also plays so it gives us an opportunity to share a hobby. My only issue with playing with younger people is that many of them just want to rush thru. I enjoy observing the artwork and the mechanics of the game.
